I created this card for two Simon Says Stamp (SSS) challenges. The Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #26 is to create a card using pastel colors. The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week is to create a project featuring three colors. So I made a card that has three pastel colors and lots of polka dots. I created the background by applying Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac Distress inks through the SSS stencil. I then blended Tumbled Glass ink onto cardstock and die cut it for the sentiment. Three gemstones were attached to three of the background dots for just a little sparkle. I layered all of the elements onto polka dot-covered cardstock to tie it all together. Thanks for stopping by.

I have been inspired over the past few days by Kathy Racoosen of The Daily Marker fame. She is currently hosting a “Pop-up challenge” to create with lines in your coloring projects, which is lots of fun. The first piece I’ve actually finished in card form is here. I drew lines with a Sharpie and a thinner Copic Multi-liner. I then added color to the random shapes I created with watercolor markers and blended those areas with a water brush. I then die cut the design and added the die-cut sentiment (actually two for a drop shadow effect). I created more lines with the baker’s twine on a piece of cardstock, and mounted the colored design on top with dimensional adhesive which grounded the image. I worked on this over several days, so I was pretty happy just to finish it! Thanks for visiting today.

Ranger Distress Inks
I created this card as part of a personal challenge on the Hero Arts Flickr group, where we challenged ourselves to create a card with at least one Hero Arts product within a 90 minute timeframe. I made it (barely!) within that amount of time. I’m very slow and methodical, so any timed challenge is really tough for me! The background was something I made after taking the first day of Online Card Classes “Background Check” class. I used Distress inks and water, plus a lovely Hero Arts background stamp to make the background. A very fun technique! Thanks for visiting today.

I created this clean and simple card using the Lawn Fawn chevron stamp that is great for backgrounds and used a die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the design with Hero Arts ombre ink. The Addicted to CAS Challenge #68 was to use chevron on a clean and simple card. The Operation Write Home (OWH) – Our Daily Bread Challenge for July is a Thank You card. And I added a little bit of sparkle and shine to this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog. It’s a three-fer! What fun! This might be my last OWH card. Maybe. This simple card is a tri-fold window card. I used the The Cat’s Pajamas Tuesday Sketch #294 for design inspiration. I colored the kitty image from The Cat’s Pajamas with Copic markers and popped it up with dimensional adhesive. I used a color blocking technique with the papers for some visual interest. I played with a number of different elements and combinations before I landed on this final card! I used the sketch at Paper Players Sketch #251 as inspiration. I colored the stamped peony and leaves from Altenew with Copic markers and layered them on top of the Memory Box die cut. I added a few tiny rhinestones for a little sparkle. Thanks for visiting.

Here is a colorful card for the day! I created this card for Operation Write Home and I was inspired by the current OWH Mid-month Challenge: Banners. Most of the banners for this card were made from the Avery Elle “Elle-ments” set. I mixed some Gelatos on white cardstock to match some of the colors in the pretty Bella Blvd papers. I spritzed the colors with water to create my own brightly colored paper that I die cut for the background butterfly. I placed the detailed, matching butterfly die cut on top to provide some definition of the wings. Both die cuts are securely adhered beneath the butterfly body so the wings float up a bit, to give the impression that the bug might fly off the paper! Thanks for stopping by.

At the end of the season, it is tradition for parents of the South Salem High School tennis team to thank the coaches for all of their work and many volunteer hours they’ve contributed. The team just had their end-of-year tournament and awards ceremony this past weekend. The team captains presented each of the three coaches a gift and one of these cards, signed by all of the players. Since the school colors are light blue, red and white, I used them as my palette for the card. I added some extra texture and sheen on one of the panels by applying pearl modeling paste through a stencil. These were fun cards to make! Thanks for stopping by. Go Saxons!

For today’s card, I created a watercolor background and image with Ranger Distress Inks. I did a wash with ink and lots of water for the background and then added some spatters of color. Next, I cut the decorative frame from 110 lb. Neenah white cardstock, which is very hefty. I adhered the thin outer frame horizontally and then added the center vertically in the middle with dimensional adhesive. I applied Distress inks directly to the stamp and then spritzed it with water. Once it was dry, I cut out the leaves and mounted it on top of the frames with a bit more dimensional adhesive. The word “thanks” is a die-cut that I cut out of some cardstock that I found in my stash that matched some of my ink, and then added Glossy Accents on top for some shine to set the sentiment off a little bit.
