I have really enjoyed making Valentines this year. I sent this one to my mom. I had a good time mixing and matching different products together to make this card. The main attraction is such a pretty leafy heart die from Memory Box! I look forward to making some other non-Valentine cards with it as well.
Thanks for visiting today.

I know many people think Valentine’s Day is a marketing holiday, but I must admit to liking little hearts and cute animals on cards! And chocolate is a nice touch, too! I actually like to incorporate hearts in my mixed media work often, no matter what time of year.
I made this card for my husband. We are a cute animal loving family, so this is the first of several cute animal valentines I’ll be posting! I really like this set from Art Impressions and knew when I saw it at Creativation that I had to have it. I colored the otter with Copics. I pulled this card together by using some items that have been in my stash for years and years. The heart stickers and patterned paper are things I’ve had for at least 10 years, but I pull my Valentine-making supplies out and it keeps on giving!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Thanks for visiting today.

I’m still embracing creating cards that are different from the Christmas cards that I concentrated on during the last month or two. It is fun to pull out some different supplies! For this I pulled some scraps together and used some pretty dies in my stash to create a simple card. This will be added to the box I’m putting together with cardmaking friends to send to a military unit (for the soldiers to send home to their friends and families). Thanks for stopping by.
By the way, my new friend pictured to the right of my card was a Christmas gift. Is he cute or what?! He is such a good model that he may appear in more upcoming photos! Thanks, Rene’!

This was a fun card to make, although pretty busy visually! I stamped these cute critters from Memory Box and colored them with Copic markers, then cut them out with the matching dies to make life easier! I used inspiration from the card sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for the design, inking the edges of the background pieces to try to separate them a little from each other visually. A happy card with cute animals! What could be better? Thanks for stopping by!

I enjoy making Fall cards. When October begins, I think of leaves changing colors, my birthday (hee hee), pumpkins, and squirrels scampering. So I decided to make a card featuring squirrels scampering among the Fall leaves. I’ll probably send this to my son at college, who enjoys all things squirrel.
For this card, I die cut all of the Memory Box pieces from white cardstock and then used Distress Inks to color them. I cut the maple leaf die in the corner twice so I could inlay the contrasting color in some of the leaves. All of the supplies I used for this card have been in my stash for a long time, particularly the sentiment stamp that appears to be made in 2006! Thanks for stopping by.

I created this card for a challenge with a group of friends to make a purple-themed card, as a tribute to a group member who recently passed away. I colored the image background with Ken Oliver Liquid Metals in a nice, metallic amethyst wash. I stamped over it with black ink. I used some lacy die-cuts for visual interest. Thanks for visiting.

I used a whole bunch of stuff in order to create the layers for this little canvas! And I used glitter and other shiny stuff that I don’t often use. The Mixed Media Mojo Challenge for January 2016 is to create something with a Winter theme and you can add a glitter twist.
I layered a lot of different products after the gesso to create a snowflakey, snowy feeling. The pearlescent modeling creme also gave off a nice sheen, as did the glitter and the embossing powder for the sentiment. The whipped spackle also give the impression of snow. I have a lot of snowflake stamps, dies and even a stencil, so it is nice to use them for something other than Christmas cards!
I like the size of this small canvas. It isn’t overwhelming and I am thinking that if I create these for each of the seasons that might be a fun little home decor item.
Thanks for stopping by!

- Crystal Stickers “Ruby Round 3mm”
- Cardstock – Neenah Solar White and Bazzill (red)
This is the first Valentine I’ve made so far this year. It features the lovely die from Memory Box that really deserves to be the focal point in this clean and simple card. I really like the detail that you get with this die. I backed the cut area with red cardstock and added the red bling in honor of Addicted to CAS Challenge #80 “Code Word Red”, and which follows the basic layout of Paper Players Sketch #279. Thanks for visiting.

I created these Artist’s Trading Cards to share at my monthly Craft Stamper group this past week. The inspiration came from the December 2015 issue of Craft Stamper magazine, pages 10-12, which featured techniques by Designer Kim Dellow. I worked in layers, with old book pages adhered with gel medium and covered with a thin layer of gesso. I added stamped images and areas of watercolor with Inktense pencil and waterbrush, creating a masterboard and then cut the “board” into 2-1/2″ X 3-1/2″ backgrounds. I then attached my gold vellum oak leaves with two french knots tied from gold metallic thread. Finally, I edged the card with a gold Krylon pen to pick up the gold metallic for a finishing touch.
I am entering this ATC in the November Take It Make It Challenge at the Craft Stamper Magazine Blog. Thanks for visiting today.
