I created this card for my brother-in-law’s birthday. I started with the BoBunny paper, which I lightly gessoed and layered some ephemera and tape on top. I covered the entire surface with collage medium. I applied some Distress inks through a stencil and more inks with a sponge applicator to add some more color. Once everything was dry, I stamped the globe and postage stamp images, along with the birthday sentiment. Finally I adhered the whole panel onto a card base. Thanks for visiting.

This was a fun card to make. A cardmaking friend has a relative with kids who need some cheering up, so this is a card I’ve made for the cause. I love these dragons. I’ve had the sentiment stamp and the little epoxy stickers for years!

I created these cards using scraps of gel prints that I printed long ago. I used stencils when I made the prints used in the first card, one is from The Crafter’s Workshop called “Aboriginal” (the smaller panel) and the other is a stencil I borrowed and I can’t determine the company who produced it. I also spritzed the final card with some sheer gold spray for a little shimmer. The second card featured green gold acrylic paint, so it already had a pretty gold metallic look. I have many, many prints in my stash because I’ve taught classes in printing and done it on my own so I have lots to play with as a result. Some I use in my art journals, but I have been enjoying using them in cards lately. For both cards, after I cut them into panels I edged them in a darker ink to “finish” them nicely. I also matted the pieces with cardstock and added the birthday sentiment. Thanks for visiting today.

This was a fun card to make. I started by heat embossing the butterfly stamp with white embossing powder onto Kraft cardstock. Then I colored it with metallic gel pens for a nice shine. Once completed, I fussy cut the butterfly out and popped it up on the embossed kraft panel with dimensional adhesive. I heat embossed the sentiment with white powder onto black. I matted the kraft panel and the sentiment onto shiny blue panels and then mounted the whole thing onto a white card base. Thanks for visiting today.

I colored this kitty (stamp and dies from Newton’s Nook) so that it looked like our cat Maxx. He has mostly white fur on his paws, but there are a couple of black spots mixed in on the bottom of his back feet. He also has what looks like a skunk stripe running down his belly, but I digress! This was a very clean and simple card, using some of my stash of patterned paper. Love this cat stamp and matching dies. The cloud dies also came with the set. Thanks for stopping by.

I made this card for a young friend who turned 21. I knew I had to take advantage of our mutual sense of humor, so I used the “Snarky” sticker from Tim Holtz! I created the background with Distress Oxide inks and a stencil. I colored the sloth and branch with Zig Clean Color markers and watercolored the ink with a waterbrush. Once the images were dry, I die-cut them and placed them onto the background, stamped the birthday sentiment and added the sticker. I edged the watercolor paper with Distress ink then layered it onto the patterned papers. The gold stone mosaic stickers gave the card a little pizzazz. Thanks for visiting.

I’m not always attracted to images with fairies, but I really liked this one with a fairy and a chipmunk! I’m sure that’s a big surprise to those of you who are familiar with my critter infatuation! I colored the image with Copic markers and edged all of the die-cut elements with Walnut Stain Distress ink. I colored the leaf die-cuts with Distress inks as well. I added a couple of layers of sparkle to the fairy’s wings with the Wink of Stella pen for the glitter effect. Thanks for stopping by.

I believe this card is technically called a flip card, although I’ve also seen it referred to as a flop card! I wouldn’t call it a flop–I’ve made much worse cards! Anyhoo, it is constructed so that when you open it up the butterfly on the front flips and the sentiment is behind it. You can get the idea in the photo below.
I heat-embossed the moth on the front with a subtly iridescent powder, which isn’t overly evident in the top photo. This Graphic45 paper collection is so pretty, it was hard to choose which patterns to use! I’ve been coveting it for a long time! But I really was drawn to the greens of these two papers. I designed this card for a class I’m teaching at Runaway Art and Craft Studio (class description). This is one of four Easter cards in the class, all using Authentique Easter papers. The image with the bunny and chicks comes from the Authentique Jubilee paper collection. I cut the bunny image from that collection, added a strip of washi tape and inked the edges to keep a vintage look. I added a small trowel, tying twine around the handle with a bow for an additional Spring touch. I’ve been waiting to find the perfect excuse to use those little trowels–they’re so doggone cute! I stamped the sentiment and adhered the entire thing to the card base (made from another lovely Authentique paper) that I die cut for a scalloped edge. A very simple card to share some Easter joy. This was a fun Valentine to make, combining supplies from a several different companies. The squirrel is surrounded by candy conversation hearts, although his acorn seems to be his favored treat! I colored the squirrel with Copic markers to start things off. Then I die-cut the hearts, coloring and stamping the conversation hearts.
