I just finished teaching a class featuring this and two more cards using these stamp sets and a watercolor technique. The watercolor is done using Marvy LePlume II markers direct to rubber and then spritzed with water. Wreath-building is very popular among stampers currently. For this card, I simply penciled in a circle and stamped the greens around it using different marker colors and stamps. It feels just like the process one undertakes when actually creating a wreath for the front door–only quicker! Once the stamping was all complete, I added a few silver Nuvo Crystal Drops for a little shine in a view areas on the wreath. Finally I added a sentiment in the center of the wreath and gave it some more shine with silver heat embossing, plus a bow on top. I should probably put a real wreath up now! Thanks for stopping by.

This was a fun card to make, although pretty busy visually! I stamped these cute critters from Memory Box and colored them with Copic markers, then cut them out with the matching dies to make life easier! I used inspiration from the card sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for the design, inking the edges of the background pieces to try to separate them a little from each other visually. I created this card based on inspiration from Day 2 of Online Card Classes Clean & Simply Holiday class. You need to take the class to get all of the steps, but it was fun to get back with my watercolors again and a technique I learned long ago in college. I layered the watercolored panel onto a shiny piece of silver cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment for a bit of gloss and sheen. Thanks for stopping by.

I created this card for a friend. I love the sentiment–eating cake is important on one’s birthday! I colored the stamped image with Copic markers and layered it up using the sketch listed below as a reference. I was really pleased with the way it turned out and that I was able to use everything from my stash. I’ve had most of the supplies for years! That makes a card even better! Thanks for visiting.

Today I’ve got a two-fer! I’ve made two Halloween cards with Lawn Fawn products featuring a number of cute creatures!

I created a spooky scene with some cute stamped images and a lot of dies! I colored the creatures with Copic markers. I cut the spooky fence from Lawn Fawn sparkle cardstock (Autumn collection). It provided nice contrast among the matte black cardstock layers. The sequins provided a bit more sparkle to spice up the card.

I began this card by making a Ranger Distress Oxide ink background and then die-cut it so that the shiny gold below peeks through the star openings. I colored the bunny, pumpkin and squirrels with Copic markers. I created this card with a bunny witch for a swap. The recipient is a fan of rabbits, so I wanted to be sure to incorporate one into the scene. It is always fun to combine several sets to build the perfect scene and I did that for both of these cards.

I created the background with several Distress Oxide inks and then stamped the Inkadinkado image in black onto it. I layered the patterned paper and the stamped image onto the card base. I cut the Trick or Treat sentiment from a piece of printed cardstock. I distressed the edges of the image and sentiment just by running scissors over the edge of the paper until it got a bit ragged. I adhered the stickers that really look like candy along the right hand side of the card (it must have flown out of the trick or treat bags!).

I started out creating backgrounds with no other plan but to make some Distress Oxide backgrounds using Halloween-y colors. The background for this card started out with Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot and Dusty Concord and lots of water and leaving some white space. I then applied Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink through the Shatter stencil. I edged it with Black Soot and added a little more water splatters to the blended inks.
Meanwhile, I stamped the bat in black Archival ink on white cardstock and trimmed away the labeling on the image. I colored it by blending Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire (regular) Distress ink to color the bat. I then adhered it to the background with dimensional adhesive. I added the “Free to Fly” sticker to the scene. I assembled the card by adhering the patterned paper to a card base, tying the twine around the top of the bat scene and adhering it all onto the card.

This is a pretty adorable image of the kitties among the pumpkins by Newton’s Nook. Their animal designs are some of my favorites! I colored the image with Copic markers and trimmed it out so no white was showing. I inked the edges with a black Sharpie to cover any white paper edges. The sentiment is heat embossed, adding a little shine to the words. I trimmed the sentiment flag-style. Before I adhered the foreground, I applied some Distress inks to the patterned paper, beginning with Hickory Smoke and then adding Peeled Paint ink for a colorful shadow beneath the image. I popped up the image with dimensional adhesive and then edged the panel with Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink. Thanks for visiting today.

I was very proud to create this interactive card and have it work correctly the first time! This is Trenton’s birthday card (20th! Yikes!). He always likes critter cards, so I think it will be a hit.
I started out by creating the Distress Oxide paper using three different blue inks and lots of water drops. I used this for the sky in my scene. I cut it out using the scalloped square die and did the same with bright green cardstock. I then cut “hills” from the green and layered them onto the blue piece. I stamped, colored (with Copics) and cut out all of the roller coaster and critter pieces. I die-cut the slider with the roller coaster in place and then popped up the background, attached the pieces and inserted a penny with the roller coaster car adhered to it, into the slot. The bunny in the roller coaster car slides along the roller coaster very nicely! Love it! I heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of red cardstock and cut fish-tail flags on either end. I adhered all of the pieces onto a card base, making a 5-1/2″ X 5-1/2″ square card. I confess to playing with it, sliding the bunny car back and forth, before I put it in the mail. It is only slightly used!

This was one of those backgrounds that involved layers and layers, which is one of my favorite things! I began by stenciling texture paste through the leaf stencil onto smooth Bristol paper and allowed it to dry. I stamped some leaves on tissue wrap and added them with gel medium onto the piece. Then I added and blended Distress Inks to cover the background with color. I stenciled some pattern as well with the ink until I was pleased with the colors and overall appearance. For some final sparkle, I sprayed and spattered some copper and pewter inks in a couple of places. I added the die cut and stamped sentiment, then tied the charm and twine onto the card with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch as inspiration. I mounted the card front onto the card base with an extra vertical strip of cardstock for visual balance. Thanks for visiting.
