I created this by using what I have–and what I’ve already cut and stamped out! Between classes I’ve taught and past projects, I’ve got a lot of bits and pieces to work with. Sometimes it is fun to see what I can come up with by just using those miscellaneous elements. I will list all of the products I used below.
I was really anxious to do some cross stitching on one of the new Lawn Fawn Embroidery Hoop dies. I have deadline I should be designing for, but I couldn’t stand it any longer! I decided to use three shades of pink to stitch the heart for an Ombre effect. The stitching went quite quickly and I chose not to put it into the hoop part of the die set. I decided to use it for a backdrop on a Pop-up Platform with an Easter scene. These critters are so cute and I had a lot of them from the classes I taught recently. I colored them with Copic markers.
This dimensional scene folds flat for mailing, which is really amazing! Lawn Fawn dies are designed so well. It is almost more of a gift than a card–a great surprise for any recipient.

I made a little collection of critter Valentines this year featuring Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. I’m keeping them in the family since I’m giving them to my mom to share. Maybe if I’m good, I’ll get one back!
I colored all of the cute critters with Copic markers with very simple blending and I used some patterned papers I had on hand to add some festive backgrounds. I’ll provide my supply list below and then I’ll give you a look at each card individually.

I know it has been way too long since I’ve posted here. I spent December carving stamps for the #carvedecember challenge on Instagram. I’ll be creating a blog post about my hand-carved stamps soon. Today I’m back to share some cardmaking.

This card was so much fun to create! As soon as I saw the Small Mini Slimline Stackables die set, I saw so many possibilities! So for this card, I cut the smallest in the set in three colors and covered the card base for a fun background. The colors I chose were not necessarily traditional for a Valentine. From there I created a scene with the cute skunks in the Scent with Love and Scent with Love Add-on sets with clouds and grass from other die sets in my stash. There’s very little better than cute critter stamps, and Lawn Fawn always comes through for me!
I colored all of the stamped and die-cut elements with Copic markers. I blended the die-cut grass with Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink.
I’m jumping ahead to Spring for a short visit! We’ve had rain, hail and sunshine this first week of February here in the Willamette Valley (and the Groundhog did not see his shadow). So here is a cheerful birdhouse made completely with Lawn Fawn dies. I decided to die cut all of these pieces in lots of happy colors and do some mixing and matching. This card had absolutely no stamping either. That doesn’t happen very often.

Yesterday was National Coffee Day, but I wasn’t quick enough to post the card I made to celebrate coffee. It was fun to make a little scene with multiple stamp sets, and of course, to include lots of critters. I pulled mice from three different sets (and there are more!).
Here’s what I used:

I colored each mouse with Copic markers and used Distress Inks to color the mug and sentiment background. I lightly inked the Tim Holtz stamp and spritzed it with water to stamp a light pattern onto the mug (see below).

I couldn’t wait to make this birthday card for my son! He turned 22 on Friday, but he still likes cute animals! Plus he will forever be known as “Chipmunk” from his YMCA camp counselor days, so all things squirrely seem appropriate!
The fun thing about this card is the way that by using this die to cut the trees, you can hide surprises behind the flaps (in this case, more squirrels!), to make it interactive.
I used the Lawn Fawn Let’s Go Nuts stamp and die sets and the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop die.
I did some simple ink blending with Distress inks for the background prior to adhering the trees. I used Broken China for the top of the sky and then blended Pine Needles, Brushed Corduroy and Broken China at the bottom. The sentiment is Squeezed Lemonade and Fired Brick.
I blended some Ground Espresso ink on the trees on the backdrop to make some subtle shadows. I colored the squirrels, wagon and acorn with Copic markers and created my scene by adhering everybody in the nooks and crannies and around the trees.

Looks like a surprise inside!
I had never made a card with this clever pivot pop-up mechanism that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn die so-named. Not only do the mice provide a major cuteness factor, the way the inside of the card pops-out is a really fun surprise! I colored all of the critters and dandelions with Copic markers.

It pops out with such dimension, but it folds very flat so it is easy to pop in an envelope and mail! And so I did. I made this for a card exchange and sent it off to an online friend in Ontario, Canada.

This card was really fun to make. I sent it off with a care package to my son, who is a college student in need of chocolate!
I created the little heart shaker tag first, using the Lawn Fawn die set, and filling it with sequins and beads. I cut out hearts using another Lawn Fawn die set, one to layer the tag onto and the other for the light blue heart-shaped window. I then stamped the puffin, fish and hearts, then die cut it, then colored them with Copic markers. I adhered the stamped images on top of the shaker window, then attached the tag to the deep pink heart with a brad that I’ve had in my stash for over a decade! The tag allows the tag to swing a little bit so the beads and sequins shift around when shaken.
I added the patterned paper inside the window and layered the rest on top, finishing it with the sentiment. Here’s a closer look at the details:

I created a spooky scene with some cute stamped images and a lot of dies! I colored the creatures with Copic markers. I cut the spooky fence from Lawn Fawn sparkle cardstock (Autumn collection). It provided nice contrast among the matte black cardstock layers. The sequins provided a bit more sparkle to spice up the card.

I began this card by making a Ranger Distress Oxide ink background and then die-cut it so that the shiny gold below peeks through the star openings. I colored the bunny, pumpkin and squirrels with Copic markers. I created this card with a bunny witch for a swap. The recipient is a fan of rabbits, so I wanted to be sure to incorporate one into the scene. It is always fun to combine several sets to build the perfect scene and I did that for both of these cards.

I was very proud to create this interactive card and have it work correctly the first time! This is Trenton’s birthday card (20th! Yikes!). He always likes critter cards, so I think it will be a hit.
I started out by creating the Distress Oxide paper using three different blue inks and lots of water drops. I used this for the sky in my scene. I cut it out using the scalloped square die and did the same with bright green cardstock. I then cut “hills” from the green and layered them onto the blue piece. I stamped, colored (with Copics) and cut out all of the roller coaster and critter pieces. I die-cut the slider with the roller coaster in place and then popped up the background, attached the pieces and inserted a penny with the roller coaster car adhered to it, into the slot. The bunny in the roller coaster car slides along the roller coaster very nicely! Love it! I heat-embossed the sentiment onto a strip of red cardstock and cut fish-tail flags on either end. I adhered all of the pieces onto a card base, making a 5-1/2″ X 5-1/2″ square card. I confess to playing with it, sliding the bunny car back and forth, before I put it in the mail. It is only slightly used!
