This card was very fun to make. I die-cut the round flap, making a window in the top piece of grey cardstock. I colored my cast of characters with Copic markers and created the scene with the sea creatures in a layer underneath on light blue cardstock and adhered it behind the opening in the grey cardstock. I added the porthole frame around the circle flap and stamped “open” on the flap tab. The tab can then be tucked into the porthole frame. I colored the submarine image with metallic gel pens and adhered it to the outside of the flap. I then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, adhering it to the bottom of the front panel. I then adhered the grey cardstock to the polka-dot, top fold card base. As always, Lawn Fawn has produced some great stamps and dies to create scenes with. I’m only getting started! I am behind in posting here. I made this card some time ago. I created the background by using an embossing folder and then sanding the paper to make the embossed tree trunk images stand out. I colored the stamped raccoons with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment, that came from the same stamp set as the raccoons, and die-cut it. I’ve had the button in my stash for years, and I thought it fit this card very well. It was really fun putting this card together. Thanks for visiting.

I participated in a swap that had a “sunshine” theme recently with a group of online friends (some of whom I’ve actually met!). We trade these baseball card-sized Artist’s Trading Cards (ATCs) with each other from time to time. This time around the theme was “Here Comes the Sun.”
I made my cards using a pretty cocktail napkin as a base, adhering it to cardstock with gel medium which makes a nice texture.
I heat embossed the stamped sentiment onto vellum, cut it out and added it to the cards strategically so I didn’t cover the flowers completely. I’ve had this stamp for quite a while and have always liked the sentiment on it. Finally I arranged sequins from my stash around for a little visual interest. You can get a closer look at one here.

I created this mixed media tag for a class I taught. I really enjoyed putting it together with a variety of materials and knowing that combining these materials would be something new for some of the students. I began with a die-cut tag from raindrop patterned paper. Layers include some stenciled acrylic paint, washi tape, and tea bag paper beneath the fussy-cut bird from Autentique paper. I colored this kitty (stamp and dies from Newton’s Nook) so that it looked like our cat Maxx. He has mostly white fur on his paws, but there are a couple of black spots mixed in on the bottom of his back feet. He also has what looks like a skunk stripe running down his belly, but I digress! This was a very clean and simple card, using some of my stash of patterned paper. Love this cat stamp and matching dies. The cloud dies also came with the set. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m not always attracted to images with fairies, but I really liked this one with a fairy and a chipmunk! I’m sure that’s a big surprise to those of you who are familiar with my critter infatuation! I colored the image with Copic markers and edged all of the die-cut elements with Walnut Stain Distress ink. I colored the leaf die-cuts with Distress inks as well. I believe this card is technically called a flip card, although I’ve also seen it referred to as a flop card! I wouldn’t call it a flop–I’ve made much worse cards! Anyhoo, it is constructed so that when you open it up the butterfly on the front flips and the sentiment is behind it. You can get the idea in the photo below.
I heat-embossed the moth on the front with a subtly iridescent powder, which isn’t overly evident in the top photo. This Graphic45 paper collection is so pretty, it was hard to choose which patterns to use! I’ve been coveting it for a long time! But I really was drawn to the greens of these two papers. I designed this card for a class I’m teaching at Runaway Art and Craft Studio (class description). This is one of four Easter cards in the class, all using Authentique Easter papers. The image with the bunny and chicks comes from the Authentique Jubilee paper collection. I cut the bunny image from that collection, added a strip of washi tape and inked the edges to keep a vintage look. I added a small trowel, tying twine around the handle with a bow for an additional Spring touch. I’ve been waiting to find the perfect excuse to use those little trowels–they’re so doggone cute! I stamped the sentiment and adhered the entire thing to the card base (made from another lovely Authentique paper) that I die cut for a scalloped edge. A very simple card to share some Easter joy. I created this card using a variety of items I’ve accumulated, both old and new. I’m challenging myself to use (and hopefully use-up!) things in my stash. I always make a few New Year’s cards to send to people who I didn’t quite get Christmas cards mailed to in time. I created the background for this one by combining three different Distress Oxide inks. I really like the calligraphic Inky Antics stamp and embossing it in gold seemed appropriate for New Year’s.
