- Stamps – Our Craft Lounge “Penguin Fun” and Penny Black “Christmas Cheer”
- Patterned paper – KaiserCraft “Just Believe” paper pad
- Ribbon – American Craft
- Copic markers and Ranger Distress Inks
- Cardstock – Bazzill
It is hard for me to do it, but I made a Christmas card in July. I’m one of those people who need it to be mid-December before I’m really in the mood to make a Christmas card, which is a real problem in order for me to actually get any created and in the mail for people! This past week’s Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge was Christmas in July. I do need to make some Christmas and winter-themed cards for our heroes, so I’m okay with getting some made during the summer months! So for my first Christmas card, I thought I needed to show off a penguin! After stamping the image, I colored it with Copic markers and then added some distress inks along the border of it. I then added the sentiment at a jaunty angle with some ribbon behind it. Enjoy and hopefully the snow will help cool you off–it has been a hot weekend for us! Thanks for stopping by.

- Die cuts – KaiserCraft “Secret Admirer Icons”
- Stamp – Verve Stamps
- Cardstock – BoBunny Turquoise Flourish and Bazzill Bling
- Rhinestones – KaiserCraft and Michael Richards, Inc.
This card features the KaiserCraft Victorian-looking die cuts I picked up recently. I grouped together four different die cut images with the sentiment banner to create the focal point. I used Sketch #79 at Cardabilities for inspiration. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamps – My Mind’s Eye “Find Your Wings and Fly”
- Sentiment stamp – Impression Obsession “Thinking of You”
- Patterned papers – Fancy Pants “Swagger” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Tape sticker – Fancy Pants “Swagger”
- Diecuts made from Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Nine”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Kraft paper
Here we have a mustachioed card! The Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge this week was to create masculine cards for our heroes to send home. I really wanted to use the “Swagger” patterned papers for this and decided that they would work well with the 365 Cards Day 188 Super Sketchy Sunday Sketch. I had a good time stretching this sketch to work with the elements I’d chosen. Thanks for stopping by!

- Patterned papers – Echo Park “All About A Boy”
- Bling – Mark Richards Crystal Stickers
- Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny Dots
I created this card from ideas offered during the first week of Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 — and also ideas I gleaned from the Pattern Play class a few months ago. I used this week’s color scheme, along with one of the three sketches provided this week. I added some sparkly touches with my Sakura Gel Pens on the cat and in faux stitching around the edges. Thanks for visiting.

- Stamp – from Hero Arts “Live Life” set
- Embossing Folder – from Cuttlebug “Decorative Tile” set
- Twine – The Cat’s Pajamas “Peppermint”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
Here is another card for my OWH box, which I should send off pretty soon. I made it for the OWH Midweek Throwdown Color Challenge this week to use a red, white, blue and Kraft color scheme on a card. I created a simple design with some a little bit of texture to enhance it. I like the contrast you get with this color scheme. Didn’t get it posted in time for the 4th! Have a great day!

- Stamp – Magenta “Sleeping Cat”
- Background – made with Gelli Plate – Gelli Arts – layers of acrylic paint with impressions from: Stencil Girl “Damask Waves 6” and Crafter’s Workshop “Basketweave” template
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Embossing folder – Cuttlebug “Swiss Dots”
- Ribbon – May Arts
- Ink – Ranger Distress Ink: Seedless Preserves
- Acrylic Paints and Ranger Distress Paint (Brushed Pewter)
I made this card using a background/monoprint I created with my Gelli Plate. This particular background consists of three separate runs to get the layers of color I wanted. Each print run used a different color(s) of paint and different imagery. I used Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #93 as inspiration for the layout of this card. Because I’ve been demonstrating mono-printing with the Gelli Plate at a local art and craft studio, I have lots of backgrounds to work with! You may see more soon. I blended some Distress Ink onto the cat image to avoid the stark white paper I had stamped it on. It worked better visually with the background that way. Thanks for visiting.

- Stencil – Crafter’s Workshop “Aboriginal TCW323”
- Die cut made with Memory Box “Bistro Label”
- Stamp – Printworks “Thank You”
- Bling – Mark Richards “Lavendar Dots” and “Silver Metal”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Distress inks – Ranger – Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves
I followed the OWH Tuesday Tutorial Distressed Butterflies link for inspiration to make the background for the is card. The effect is almost airbrushed-looking, which I always like. Once I get started making backgrounds, I want to make more, so I’ll have to pull out some more stencils and different colors of Distress Inks and continue on! Have a great day!

- Stamps – Hero Arts “You’re Always in my Heart” set
- Patterned paper – Reminisce “Let Freedom Ring”
- Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny Dots
- Memory Box Pearl Stickers
I made this card for our new local stamp store, Runaway Art and Craft Studio, to showcase some patriotic papers and stamps they got in for the 4th. I used a sketch from 365Cards Day 174. I used Ranger Distress Inks around the edges of the various elements and also a shot of my homemade ink spray that I made from Distress Ink Reinkers and water. This would make a good Any Hero card for Operation Write Home–not for them to send home, but for them to receive with a note. Have a great day–it is a warm one here in the Pacific Northwest!

- Stamps – Layers of Color Art Stamps “Flutterescent” set (butterflies) and Printworks “Thank You”
- Patterned papers – from Fancy Pants “Country Boutique” Paper Pad
- Cardstock – BoBunny
- Bling – Kaiser Pearls and Mark Richards Crystal Stickers
This is a clean and simple card. I stamped the butterflies on a tone on tone patterned paper and attached the panel with dimensional adhesive. I then popped up the sentiment banner and also have it extending past the card base for a little more visual interest. The sketch I used was from a pre-class challenge at Online Card Classes for Summer Card Camp 2. I’m excited that this “camp” will be beginning in a little over a week. These classes are always top-notch! Thanks for stopping by today.

This week we had a party at work for two special ladies who had worked for the Legislature for over 60 years between them! That’s even longer than I’ve worked there! So I made these cards for them for us to write our good wishes as they go on to a more relaxing chapter in their lives. I colored the stamped images with Copic markers and added a little bit of bling. Thanks for visiting.
