I created this card with the Operation Write Home Mid-month Throwdown in mind. The challenge is to make a Winter birthday card and I immediately thought snowflakes. I used an embossed background featuring snowflakes and added a couple of die cut snowflakes as well. Even the edge of the sentiment die cut fits in with the lacey snowflake look. This main image a favorite from The Cat’s Pajamas since it features penguins and Halloween in the same stamp! Perfect for the TCP Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #277 with all of the Halloween-y colors. I colored the stamped image with Copic markers, cut it out and popped it up with dimensional adhesive. I added some spooky fiber to the button that I’ve had for years. Actually, I’ve had everything I used for this card for years! I guess that’s why it is so appropriate that Shopping Our Stash Challenge # 174 is Halloween. I used the sketch at The Paper Players for inspiration, Paper Players Challenge #219. I don’t think I’ve ever made one card that fit three challenges before! Finally, I distressed the edges of the cardstock. Thanks for visiting today.

The latest challenge at The Cat’s Pajamas (TCP 276) is to create a card using Light Grey, Rust and Dark Blue. For whatever reason, this card too me forever to complete! I cut different shapes, pushed them around and stared at them. This is how it ended up, for better or for worse! I colored the squirrel and acorns with Copic markers and cut them out. I’m thinking that the squirrel is juggling the acorns, by the way. Enjoy and thanks for visiting.

I’ve got Jack and the Beanstalk featured for this card. This Graphic 45 paper collection is so pretty and it includes a number of Eerie Tales with sort of a Halloween theme. The copper colored stickers work nicely with the oranges in the papers. I’ve had those stickers in my stash for quite some time as well as the little blingy bits! I think this fits the “It’s the Most Colorful Time of the Year” challenge at Shopping Our Stash, since I used a number of Fall colors, plus green. Thanks for visiting today.

Happy Birthday, Trenton! This is Trenton’s card for today, celebrating his 16 years of age. It features a great set from The Cat’s Pajamas. The bunny is colored with Copic markers, cut out and popped up with some dimensional adhesive. I carried the star theme through by finding some star patterned paper in my stash for a backdrop and then stamped the little twin stars in the “Wish” set and created a border at the bottom. I trimmed along the star border on the front of the card and colored in the stars with the Stardust Gelly Roll pen so they’d twinkle. I added a strip of red cardstock on the inside of the card to bring out the star border.

This card started out with the image stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then colored the hydrangea with Twinkling H2Os. The embossing powder provided a strong outline and acted as a resist for the watercolor. The outline on the sentiment flag is another Penny black stamp that I heat embossed with some iridescent embossing powder.
I was inspired by Debby Hughes, who is the muse for CASE Study #207 at the CASE Study Blog. I have taken a number of Online Card Classes during which Debby was a guest designer and I’m familiar with her style. Here is a closer look at some detail on my card. Thanks for visiting.

This is a very simple card in which I used a number of images from the new Lawn Fawn “Snow Day” clear stamp set. I colored the bunnies with Copic Markers and edged the elements with Black Soot Distress Ink. I added a smattering of little stamped hearts from the same stamp set down the left side of the main panel to tie the heart theme up. I was inspired by a lesson in the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps 2 class to play with a background stamp and Perfect Pearls. I stamped the lovely background image with Perfect Medium and then applied Perfect Pearls to make an elegant sheen on the dark brown cardstock. I covered the die cut butterfly with gold embossing powder and heat set it. I wanted to repeat a little of the gold used in the background to tie the butterfly focal point to the background. For the sentiment, I used the die cut words, adhered them to a fishtail-cut flag, and covered it all with Glossy Accents to bring on a little more shine. Thanks for visiting.

This was a fun card to make. I used the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps: OWH Sketch #230. I colored the bears with watercolor pencils and blended with a water brush. I liked using the bright colors with this sketch to make a card that would be good for a kid of any age! Thanks for visiting.
