It was kind of difficult to capture this ornament accurately with all of the reflection on the red metallic die-cut. This die-cut really shines and sparkles! The background is a gelli plate print I made previously, mainly with red paint and stencils. I accented the frame with holly from the Sizzix die set. The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Make it Sparkle, but I hope a little shine will also fit the bill! Thanks for visiting and Happy Holidays!

I created this card without doing any stamping, which is fun to do once in awhile (but I do love my stamping!). This is a very simple design and could qualify as a masculine card. I made it in response to the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group Challenge #52: “Cut it Out,” which is to use die cuts on a card. The Shopping our Stash Challenge #265 is to use a word die and on this card, the sentiment is the focal point. That’s it for now. Thanks for visiting.

- Embossing paste – translucent – Wendy Vecchi Studio 490
- Sequins – Simon Says Stamp – Assorted Moonshine
- Cardstock – Paper Accents “Lavender Twilight”
I created this card for my sister’s birthday. I had created a number of images with the hydrangea stamp and stencil set when I was demonstrating with them at Runaway Art and Craft Studio in Salem, Oregon. After I stamped and colored this image with Distress inks, I added some translucent embossing paste over the flowers to add some texture. I put the image together with a birthday tag colored with matching Distress ink and added some sequin sparkle. This Anything Goes card fits the Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday Challenge this week and the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge, too. Thanks for visiting.

I wanted to create another iris fold card. For this one I cut a “window” from one of my dies. I used a square Iris Fold pattern from Judy Headrick at Cards and Crafts to fill in the frame with multiple metallic colors. I made this card for an older gentleman and added the gears for a masculine touch. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamps – Technique Tuesday Coffee Break Seal
- Cardstock – Ranger Manila
- Distress inks – Ranger Old Paper and Walnut Stain
- Pigment ink – Tsukineko Delicata Dark Brown Shimmer
I created this set of Artist’s Trading Cards (ATCs) for an upcoming exchange I’m participating in. A friend gave me the stamp set I used, which is the perfect size for trading cards! I started with the manila cardstock, which is the same stuff used for manila tags. I applied a layer of Old Paper Distress Ink with a foam applicator around the edges and then added the Walnut Stain Distress Ink and blended it into the other ink, around the very edges. I then spritzed some water on the craft mat and mopped up some water and Walnut Stain ink to make it look a little coffee-splotched–which is a technical term. I then stamped the seal in the center and added a coffee bean at each corner–all with the Delicata shimmery brown ink. I connected the beans with some freehand double-lines drawn in fine-line dark brown ink to pull the composition together. These cards are also very fitting for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Anything Goes Challenge. I even showcased Technique Tuesday stamps! Thanks for visiting today.

- Sizzix – Tim Holtz Framelits “Bird Crazy”
- Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts “Stitched Circle Frames”
- Corner punch – Fiskars “Spiral”
- Patterned paper – Lawn Fawn “Beachside: Deep Sea”
- Gelatos
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I think this is a pretty wild bird, so it fits perfectly for The Paper Players Wild Thing Challenge. The background was made with Gelatos and water. Some of the Gelatos were metallic, so there is a subtle sheen. I colored the bird with Zig Clean Color markers and a water-brush. I popped him up inside the circle frame and that dimension almost makes him look like he’s swinging on it. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamp – Simon Says Stamp “Square Sayings”
- Patterned paper – Basic Grey Lemonade Collection: “Pretty Petals”
- Ranger – Dina Wakley Clear Gesso
- Ranger – Tim Holtz Distress Crayons
- Ranger Texture Paste
- Stencil – The Crafter’s Workshop “Tiny Circles” 6 X 6″ stencil
- Sequins – Simon Says Stamp – Assorted Moonshine
- Inks Sprays – Dylusions White Linen, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist assorted colors
- Cardstock – Bazzill
This was such a fun project! I made it over a period of time, since I created the background while playing with patterned papers, texture paste and stencils, and ink sprays with some friends. I made a lot of different backgrounds with many layers of ink and texture. Then I got my hands on the Distress Crayons and butterfly dies and put together some different butterflies to use on something someday, coloring the butterfly base with the crayons and cutting the details from a contrasting cardstock. I stared at my backgrounds and the butterflies and finally put the pieces together in this birthday card! The final card fits perfectly for the current challenge at Simon Says Stamp for the Monday Challenge Blog Butterfly Beauty Challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

- Dies – Simon Says Stamp “Stitched Daisies”
- Stencil – Ranger Dylusions “Fronds of Foliage”
- Tag – Ranger #8 Manila Tag
- Distress Crayons – Ranger Tim Holtz: Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, and Mermaid Lagoon
- Distress Inks – Ranger Tim Holtz: Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Ribbon
This tag was my first experiment with Distress Crayons. I started with a manila tag and colored it with three different colors of the crayons, pretty much covering the whole tag. I spritzed it with water and blended the colors a bit. I applied Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink through the stencil in a few spots and then applied Salty Ocean ink all around the edges of the tag, blending all of the colors together. Along the way, I spritzed and splattered some water to add some nice spots! The focal point is the set of daisy die cuts from Simon Says Stamp, that I also distressed with Chipped Sapphire before adhering to the tag. I like how the ink picks up the faux stitching on the daisies. Thanks for visiting today.

I used a whole bunch of stuff in order to create the layers for this little canvas! And I used glitter and other shiny stuff that I don’t often use. The Mixed Media Mojo Challenge for January 2016 is to create something with a Winter theme and you can add a glitter twist.
I layered a lot of different products after the gesso to create a snowflakey, snowy feeling. The pearlescent modeling creme also gave off a nice sheen, as did the glitter and the embossing powder for the sentiment. The whipped spackle also give the impression of snow. I have a lot of snowflake stamps, dies and even a stencil, so it is nice to use them for something other than Christmas cards!
I like the size of this small canvas. It isn’t overwhelming and I am thinking that if I create these for each of the seasons that might be a fun little home decor item.
Thanks for stopping by!

- Dies:
- Spellbinders “Foxy” and Labels One”
- Simon Says Stamp “Thanks”
- Metallic Gold cardstock
- Ranger Distress Inks – Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Picked Raspberry
- Doodlebug sequins
- Cardstock – Bazzill
First, I created the multi-colored background by painting with Distress Inks and water, and then spritzed it with a little more water to get some nice spots! Then I die-cut it and the fox and sentiment and put them altogether. I unified it with more metallic gold by adding the sequins. I mounted the pieces on black to make the colors pop. The Shopping our Stash Challenge #228 is Thanks, which appropriate since Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away. Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
