Most of my holiday cards feature penguins–that’s just the way I am. And my very favorite penguins are from The Cat’s Pajamas. They are the cutest and they seem to have a little attitude that sets them apart! For this card I stamped the penguins and colored them with Copics. Then I used the Holiday Toppers snowflake die to set a cool mood and added the sentiment below the stack o’ penguins. Thanks for visiting.
Challenge – TCP Tuesday Challenge #340 – Sparkle. I started out with sparkly cardstock and then added the silver mirror snowflakes and silver metal stickers for some shine.

- Stamps/Dies – Art Impressions “Mini Raccoon Spinner Set”
- Rectangle dies – Simon Says Stamp “Stitched Rectangles”
- Patterned paper – BoBunny “Enchanted Harvest Collection” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Cardstock – Paper Accents
- Copic markers
- Fishing line
This raccoon is is running up the tree and really trying to take that cake! I stamped the raccoon and cupcake, then colored them with Copic markers. Once that was complete, I die cut them and attached them to the fishing line (these images are two-sided).

Detail of view of raccoon from the inside.
I put a panel of the bark patterned paper on the inside of the card base and die cut the outside opening and the other stitched frames. I attached the raccoon and cupcake suspended by fishing line on the back side of the card front, concealing the fishing line with another stitched frame.
This was a fun card to make and I know a certain raccoon lover who will really like it! Thanks for visiting.

- Ranger Distress Ink – Broken China
- Patterned paper – American Crafts – Heidi Swapp “Noel”
- Zig Wink of Stella pen – clear
I had a good time creating this scene depicting bunnies having a snowball fight. I’m convinced that this happens in real life! I used Broken China Distress Ink to color the sky with snowflakes heat embossed with pearl embossing powder. The trees were die cut from patterned paper and tucked behind the die cut snowy hills. The bunnies and snowballs were colored with Copics and the snow was accented with the sparkly Wink of Stella pen. Very simple with a healthy helping of cuteness. Thanks for visiting.

This is a card I entered in the Oregon State Fair Paper Arts competition and it won a first place in the mixed media category. Yay, me! I spent a lot of time layering the Distress Oxide inks and texture paste. The stamp set comes with a stencil that I used, that matches the geometric shapes in the cat stamps. I added the mica spray ink for some shine and contrast. I colored the cat and butterflies with Copic markers, attached them to the background and finished if off with sequins to repeat the yellow from the spray. I really enjoyed making this card and playing with such a variety of media. Thanks for visiting.

I created the handmade background using Distress Oxide inks through a stencil and repeated the Summer colors with papers and Distress inks. The penguin was colored with Copic markers and popped up to add dimension. The sentiment stamp and the penguin are from the same set from The Cat’s Pajamas–I always like the sentiments! I am pleased to participate in the 2017 Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop. Thanks for stopping by.

My son graduated from high school this year, so I found myself making a number of graduation cards for him and his friends. One of the symbols from their school was the rose, so I was pleased to pull out the rose embossing folder to incorporate into the design. I also had the penguin graduate stamp set already. I colored the penguins and their accessories with Copics and played around with placement of the papers to make these two cards. I used touches of the school colors, blue and red, in the layers. Thanks for visiting.

- Stamps – Stampendous- Laurel Burch “Indigo Cats”
- Dies – Stampendous- Laurel Burch “Indigo Cats”
- Copic markers
- Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magicals – Golden Sleigh Bells, Tibetan Poppy Teal, and Witch’s Potion Purple
- Art Basics Light Texture Paste
- Stencil – Stampendous – included in Laurel Burch “Indigo Cats” stamp set
- Ranger – Dina Wakley Media Mica Spray – Lapis
- Cardstock – Paper Accents
I began this card by coloring the stamped cat and butterflies with Copic markers and then die cut the images. I created the background by starting with clear gesso, and then applying the texture paste through the matching stencil.
I liked the idea of repeating the triangles in the background that are featured on the cat. I then sprinkled Magicals and sprayed with water and mica spray, spattering more Magicals to create the effect I was aiming for.
I
continued to play, moving the color around, but finally left it alone and let it dry! I adhered the images and layered it onto matching cardstock.
I am posting this card to Craft Stamper Magazine’s May Anything Goes Stamping Challenge. Happy Little Stampers May Mixed Media Challenge is “Splats,” so I think this works! I’m also linking back to My Colorful Scoop’s Color May Inspiration Challenge. And one more time, Mom, Happy Birthday! Thanks for stopping by.
Above is a detail showing some of the texture and colors.

It was really fun to use some of my new stash from The Cat’s Pajamas (TCP) and create something for the current TCP challenge: #329 Thank You. I stamped and colored the kitty in the teacup, then die-cut the teacup. I repeated the handle shape with the decorative scalloped die. Thanks for visiting.

I created this card for my son to give his good friend who was just diagnosed with Leukemia. They’ve been friends since kindergarten–and now they are high school seniors. I colored the critters with Copics and then fussy cut them. I didn’t want any white around the edges that the dies would leave (and I don’t have dies for all of the creatures anyway!). I edged all of the critters and leaves with black. I arranged the animals and added some sequins to jazz things up a bit. I stamped the sentiment on the woodgrain tape and cut a “tail” for a flag.
