I made this card for World Card Making Day when a friend challenged us to make an “Oldie Moldie” card, which is a term she has coined that means you need to use supplies you’ve had for a long time. The outcome would be, if you made these cards often, you would have fewer old craft supplies! I’ve had the cat stamp, die, patterned papers and bat stickers for probably more than a decade! It is pretty fun to use “old friends” I’ve had in my Halloween stash for years. I need to make more! Thanks for visiting.

This card was fun to make because of all the layers–and of course it took me a very long time, just because when I’m making decisions as I move through the process it always takes me a long time! I really enjoy the process and since it is my birthday today, I indulged in getting messy and creative.
I started out by applying texture paste through the leaf stencil onto watercolor paper. I love leaves as a theme in my work! Then I stared at it for awhile, and added Distress Crayons all over the piece, blending as I went along. I then scrubbed some of the color away with a damp paper towel through a couple of stencils and continued to blend colors by adding a bit of water until I was satisfied.
Meanwhile I stamped leaves on tissue wrap with black Archival ink and added some ink splatters and Mica Spray. Once this was dry, I added some torn pieces of the stamped tissue with gel medium to the piece. I then cut the piece I would need for my card design and applied Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the edges. I wrapped it with paper string and attached the brass leaf charm.
On another scrap of watercolor paper, I watercolored with some Distress Inks and lightly stamped a few more leaves. This was meant to be a background for my sentiment, so I didn’t want my colors to be very intense. One dry, I cut out the sentiment piece, applied Walnut Stain Distress ink to the edges, and popped on the sentiment sticker. I attached the two pieces to cardstock and called it a day. Thanks for visiting.

Most of my holiday cards feature penguins–that’s just the way I am. And my very favorite penguins are from The Cat’s Pajamas. They are the cutest and they seem to have a little attitude that sets them apart! For this card I stamped the penguins and colored them with Copics. Then I used the Holiday Toppers snowflake die to set a cool mood and added the sentiment below the stack o’ penguins. Thanks for visiting.
Challenge – TCP Tuesday Challenge #340 – Sparkle. I started out with sparkly cardstock and then added the silver mirror snowflakes and silver metal stickers for some shine.

- Stamps/Dies – Art Impressions “Mini Raccoon Spinner Set”
- Rectangle dies – Simon Says Stamp “Stitched Rectangles”
- Patterned paper – BoBunny “Enchanted Harvest Collection” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Cardstock – Paper Accents
- Copic markers
- Fishing line
This raccoon is is running up the tree and really trying to take that cake! I stamped the raccoon and cupcake, then colored them with Copic markers. Once that was complete, I die cut them and attached them to the fishing line (these images are two-sided).

Detail of view of raccoon from the inside.
I put a panel of the bark patterned paper on the inside of the card base and die cut the outside opening and the other stitched frames. I attached the raccoon and cupcake suspended by fishing line on the back side of the card front, concealing the fishing line with another stitched frame.
This was a fun card to make and I know a certain raccoon lover who will really like it! Thanks for visiting.

I created this card for my son’s 19th birthday. He likes woodland critters and I gathered rodents and other creatures from a number of stamp sets to get the right combination. It was fun to use the tree stump as the platform for them to dance upon. I cut the “Tree Rings” die from white cardstock, embossed it, and then applied several different Distress inks to get the right coloring. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Birthday, Trenton!

- Cardstock – Neenah Solar White

- Ranger Distress Ink – Broken China
- Patterned paper – American Crafts – Heidi Swapp “Noel”
- Zig Wink of Stella pen – clear
I had a good time creating this scene depicting bunnies having a snowball fight. I’m convinced that this happens in real life! I used Broken China Distress Ink to color the sky with snowflakes heat embossed with pearl embossing powder. The trees were die cut from patterned paper and tucked behind the die cut snowy hills. The bunnies and snowballs were colored with Copics and the snow was accented with the sparkly Wink of Stella pen. Very simple with a healthy helping of cuteness. Thanks for visiting.

This is a card I entered in the Oregon State Fair Paper Arts competition and it won a first place in the mixed media category. Yay, me! I spent a lot of time layering the Distress Oxide inks and texture paste. The stamp set comes with a stencil that I used, that matches the geometric shapes in the cat stamps. I added the mica spray ink for some shine and contrast. I colored the cat and butterflies with Copic markers, attached them to the background and finished if off with sequins to repeat the yellow from the spray. I really enjoyed making this card and playing with such a variety of media. Thanks for visiting.
