2020 Halloween Greetings

This is my most elaborate Halloween card this year. I’m not sure exactly what happened, but time got away from me and I just didn’t make many. I created this one for a swap that I participated in. We were to make a Halloween card that was a fun fold that the recipient could use for a decoration.

I had fun putting together several different Lawn Fawn stamp/die sets and patterned papers from different companies for a spooky night-time scene. I decided on a Z-fold card, and the beauty of this design is that it can stand up on its own but it folds up to easily fit into an envelope.

Supplies:

Lawn Fawn stamps and dies – Spooktacular, Hoppy Halloween, and Fox Costumes Before ‘n Afters and the Spooky Fence Border die

Papers – Authentique – Mysterious and Twilight collections, and Echo Park Bewitched collection (for the starry sky)

I colored the critters with Copic markers and backed the card with and cut the fence border from black cardstock.

This was very fun and quite easy to make. Have a Happy Halloween!

Best Witches

  • Patterned papers – Echo Park Bewitched Collection
  • Die – Spellbinders – Venise Lace
  • Sentiment Stamps (inside) – Lawn Fawn – Spooktacular
  • Lavender Bling – Mark Richards Chrystal Stickers
  • Cardstock

I created this Halloween card for an exchange. It is made predominately with Echo Park papers and it is a fun fold, so I am including several photos so that you might be able to see how it works.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Shoot for the Moon

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas – Constellation Prize
  • Dies – Spellbinders – Curvy Labels
  • Patterned papers – Echo Park – Fine and Dandy
  • Copic markers
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

Happy New Year! I created this card for a challenge I was hosting today for an online cardmaking group. It was my first card of 2019. It had been a while since I created a card using patterned papers, especially one that wasn’t for the holidays! So it was fun to put this together. I colored the cute penguin image with Copic markers and layered the patterned papers. Very simple, but bright and cheery! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful 2019.

This was a fun card using the cute stamp and die sets from Memory Box. I like the color combination of red, white and blue with snowflakes–it is really eye-catching.  Have a wonderful day with your family and friends and thanks for stopping by.

Eclipse Day: Sunny Wishes

  • Stamps – Darcie’s set JCS165
  • Dies –
    • My Favorite Things Die-namics #466 – “Sun, Moon & Stars”
    • Little B “Circles”
    • Spellbinders Edgeabilities “Classic Ric Rac”
  • Patterned papers
    • Echo Park “A Perfect Summer: Chevrons”
    • KaiserCraft Ubud Dreams (from 6-1/2″ paper pad)
  • Sequins – Doodlebug Designs
  • Cardstock – Paper Accents

In honor of the solar eclipse we experienced here in the path of totality, I made a card featuring the sun! I used a stamp set I’ve had for a number of years by Darcie’s. It was fun to repeat the sun’s rays with the die-cut from My Favorite Things and repeat the chevron from the paper with the die-cut made with the Spellbinder’s Ric Rac die. The sequins are an iridescent yellow, but they look pretty orange in the photo. Thanks for stopping by.

Anniversary Kitty

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas, “Raining Cats” and “Simply Said”
  • Dies –
    • The Cat’s Pajamas, “Stitched Clouds” and “Easy Stitched Bow” Cut-ups
    • Spellbinders Nestabilities, “Deckled Rectangles Large”
  • Patterned Paper –
    • My Mind’s Eye – “Remarkable” 6 X 6″ paper pad
    • Echo Park – “A Perfect Summer – Chevron Lines”
  • Epoxy dots – Doodlebug Designs – “Sprinkles Spring Assortment”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This card features a stamp I’ve had for quite a while. The wood-mount stamp is dated 2006. My how that 10 years flew by! I layered some patterned papers to give the kitty a festive environment, and even used a tiny bit to paper piece the umbrella Miss Kitty is holding. There are some Spring heart showers descending from the cloud, appropriate for the TCP Tuesday Challenge #309: Spring. I stamped the cloud with my sentiment (also from TCP) and adhered it with some dimensional adhesive. As a finishing touch, I added the die-cut bow which turns out so great when you fold it! It also repeats the stitching seen on the cloud to help tie the elements together. Finally, I popped on three little epoxy dots and it was done. Thanks for stopping by.

You Make My Heart Hop!

mft-bunny-valentine

  • Stamps – My Favorite Things “Valentine Flopsey” set (bunny and sentiments)
  • Patterned paper – Echo Park “Yours Truly: Adore”
  • Dies – My Favorite Things “Blueprints 13” (tag and banner)
  • Epoxy Heart – Pebbles
  • Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I created this Valentine using My Favorite Things Sketch #267. I colored the bunny image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush. It was a very simple interpretation of the sketch. I used the dies in the Blueprints 13 set for the first time and boy, are they first rate! Such great quality! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy 2016!

fms-217-newyearkitty

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Make Merry” set
  • Dies –
    • The Cat’s Pajamas “Dots”
    • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Mega Ovals LG”
    • Spellbinders Shapeabilities “Ribbon Banners”
  • Patterned paper – Echo Park “A Perfect Summer: Chevrons”
  • Gel pens – Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust series
  • Cardstock – Paper Accents and Bazzill

I’m still making a few New Year’s cards. I have not had a very good week for creative accomplishment, so it is sort of relaxing now to make some new cards. The “real” job is really getting in the way! But it does pay for the craft supplies! I used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as inspiration for this card: Freshly Made Sketches #217. I used stamps from The Cat’s Pajamas for both the kitty image and the sentiment. Wishing you a very Happy 2016!

Daisy Birthday for Today

daisybirthday

  • Stamps – Penny Black “Flower Festival” and Hero Arts “Happy Stamp & Cut”
  • Die – Hero Arts “Happy Stamp & Cut”
  • Patterned Paper – Echo Park “Easter Floral” (both sides)
  • Embossing Powder – Stampendous “Sapphire Pearl”
  • Enamel Dots – Bella Blvd. “Punch”
  • Cardstock – Paper Accents

This is a Spring-y Happy card. I tried something different by using a colored embossing powder as an outline for the Copic coloring I did. I had to be careful, because since Copic ink is alcohol based, the color from the embossing wanted to mix in which could cause some muddy colors. Watercolor would have been a smarter route to take. But I made it work! I used the new Hero Arts set for the sentiment die cut and stamp, which I really like a lot! Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to my stop on the Operation Write Home (OWH) Finishing Strong Bloghop on this Memorial Day Weekend! There are a lot of cardmakers participating in the hop, so visit as many as you can and check out the great assortment of cards and talent! Click here to return back to the Hop’s home. I’ve been participating in OWH by making cards since early 2011. I’m proud to say that cardmakers have made MILLIONS of cards for our Heroes

Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year. All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I’m helping to get the word out!

Here is my card for the hop:

owh-bloghop-strong

  • Stamp – Simon Says Stamp “OWH Brave”
  • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Two”
  • Patterned papers – Echo Park “For the Record 2” (blue dots) and KaiserCraft “Tropical Punch Collection: Sunny” (red)
  • Epoxy stickers – Doodlebug Designs Inc. “Sprinkles”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I used OWH Sketch # 185 as a point of departure for this card. The color scheme is red, white and blue without it being a patriotic card per se. It is a very clean and simple design. Thanks for visiting my stop on the hop and have a great weekend! To return to OWH Stars and Stamp and to the bloghop, click here.
