Mousie: One of My Favorite Things

I am still having a good time making Valentines, and again I’m featuring a cute critter. Gotta do it! Critters are just meant to be on Valentines! This is a simple card with just a few stamped images and a few dies. I was guided as I designed it by the sketch in the current challenge on the My Favorite Things website (sketch is shown below). Sending Holiday Cheer, Penguin Style!

I created a clean and simple card with an adorable penguin designed by Stacey Yacula who is one of my favorite critter illustrators of all time! This penguin, the sentiment and star cluster stamps all come from a My Favorite Things set from 2018, called Sweet Holiday Penguins. I used a card sketch from the latest My Favorite Things challenge: Wednesday Sketch Challenge #510. Here’s the sketch:

I used patterned paper from the Bella Blvd Merry Christmas collection. It seemed to be a perfect choice to me because the small white polka dots are not perfectly round and look like snowballs. I colored the penguin with Copic markers, keeping it simple and added a little bit of bling off his flipper to represent him sending the holiday cheer (or snow. or pixie dust).

Another holiday card completed! Hurray! I think this makes two, maybe three! Thanks for visiting today.

Strike up the band!

There are so many cute bunnies in this stamp set from My Favorite Things! I’ve had these stamps and dies for a while, but hadn’t gotten a chance to use them on a card until now. I’m also entering this card in two challenges on the My Favorite Things blog: The Sketch #291 challenge and MFT Color Challenge #50. After I stamped and die cut the bunny, I colored it with Copics to match the MFT color challenge. I popped it up with dimensional adhesive on the patterned paper background that I spattered with white spray ink. I heat embossed the sentiment in white and added the musical notes from the stamp set. Thanks for visiting.

You Make My Heart Hop!

I created this Valentine using My Favorite Things Sketch #267. I colored the bunny image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush. It was a very simple interpretation of the sketch. I used the dies in the Blueprints 13 set for the first time and boy, are they first rate! Such great quality! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Valentine’s Day!
