I used several different media to create this card. I started with the background, combining many layers of Distress Oxide inks and water. The teacups are colored with Prismacolor pencils and KaiserCraft metallic gel pens. This is a card for the Things with Wings Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I pulled this regal kitty stamp from my stash and thought it was purrrrrfect for a New Year’s card! This is a very simple card made up of a little stamping and a little die-cutting. I inked the edges of some of the paper to repeat the light blue throughout the design. Hoping for the best in 2017! Thanks for visiting.

I’m still catching up on posting some holiday cards. This one was made with a background of paper strips using the Bargello technique. The colors are a little unorthodox, which was kind of fun for a change. I colored the image with Zig markers. Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!

I made this Halloween card for a swap with an online card group I belong to. I colored the image with Copics and cut it out, placing it on top of the same image that was stamped on the pale blue cardstock. I added a layer of Glossy Accents to the yellow moon for some shine. A pretty simple card with a cute little mouse. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m doing a little catching up on cardmaking while I have a few days off. I’ve had this stamp set for a long time and it is always fun to pull something out of my stash. I decided to pick up on the roses on some of the cupcakes and repeat roses with the patterned paper. I colored the cupcakes with KaiserCraft gel pens that really work well with their 0.6mm tips for fine lines.
I created this card using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #250. Unfortunately, I forgot to link it over there until the deadline had passed! Oh well! I will be linking to The Paper Players current challenge, which is #309: Something Sweet. A group of stamping friends and I have been virtually getting together for two years, so we decided to make cupcake cards for the occasion and this is mine. Thanks for stopping by.

I created this card with the current sketch at Mojo Monday: #461. A cardmaking group I belong to has a challenge to create a black and white card, so I set out to use this penguin set. It is very simple, using several patterned papers layered together with the image. Thanks for visiting.

I created this card for a challenge with a group of friends to make a purple-themed card, as a tribute to a group member who recently passed away. I colored the image background with Ken Oliver Liquid Metals in a nice, metallic amethyst wash. I stamped over it with black ink. I used some lacy die-cuts for visual interest. Thanks for visiting.

I wanted to create another iris fold card. For this one I cut a “window” from one of my dies. I used a square Iris Fold pattern from Judy Headrick at Cards and Crafts to fill in the frame with multiple metallic colors. I made this card for an older gentleman and added the gears for a masculine touch. Thanks for visiting today.

I am part of a group of cardmakers who challenge each other to create with different techniques and themes. Currently, we have an insect challenge. I have a number of stamps that have insect images, partly because of my interest in becoming a bugologist at a young age. My parents did try to correct me and tell me that it is ENTOmologist, but it was always going to be BUGologist to me! And I guess I didn’t end up becoming one either.
For this card I first created the background by covering a piece of multi-media paper with Gelatos in a few colors. I then took a stencil and a baby wipe and removed some of the color through the stencil, leaving the pattern. I then blended it together a little more. I then stamped the scarab onto the background with black Staz-on ink. If you look closely at the detail photo to the right, you can get a little bit of an idea of the texture and sheen created with the Gelatos on the background.
Thanks for visiting today.
