Trick or Treat

  • Stamps – Inkadinkado – Trick or Treat
  • Patterned paper – Echo Park – Bat Festival
  • Inks – Ranger Distress Oxides: Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Black Soot
  • Stickers – Jolee’s – Trick or Treat Bags
  • Sentiment – DCWV – The Midnight Stroll

I created the background with several Distress Oxide inks and then stamped the Inkadinkado image in black onto it. I layered the patterned paper and the stamped image onto the card base. I cut the Trick or Treat sentiment from a piece of printed cardstock. I distressed the edges of the image and sentiment just by running scissors over the edge of the paper until it got a bit ragged. I adhered the stickers that really look like candy along the right hand side of the card (it must have flown out of the trick or treat bags!).

Free to Fly

  • Stamp – Stamper’s Anonymous/Tim Holtz Collection – Mini Blueprints – CMS 136 (bat)
  • Stencil – Stamper’s Anonymous/Tim Holtz Collection – Shatter – THS 014
  • Patterned paper – Tim Holtz Idea-ology – Kraft Stock 8 X 8″ pad – Halloween – TH93609
  • Twine – Tim Holtz Idea-ology – Jute String – Halloween – TH93315
  • Inks –
    • Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot, Dusty Concord, and Shaded Lilac
    • Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress: Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire
  • Metallic Sticker – Tim Holtz Idea-ology – Quotations – TH93559

I started out creating backgrounds with no other plan but to make some Distress Oxide backgrounds using Halloween-y colors. The background for this card started out with Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot and Dusty Concord and lots of water and leaving some white space. I then applied Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink through the Shatter stencil. I edged it with Black Soot and added a little more water splatters to the blended inks.

Meanwhile, I stamped the bat in black Archival ink on white cardstock and trimmed away the labeling on the image. I colored it by blending Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire (regular) Distress ink to color the bat. I then adhered it to the background with dimensional adhesive. I added the “Free to Fly” sticker to the scene. I assembled the card by adhering the patterned paper to a card base, tying the twine around the top of the bat scene and adhering it all onto the card.

This was a fun one! Thanks for stopping by. For a closer look:

Piles of pumpkins and kitties

  • Stamps – Newton’s Nook – Newton’s Pumpkin Patch
  • Patterned paper – Authentique – Nightfall Seven
  • Embossing powder – Ranger Wendy Vecchi – Orange Blossom
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Copic markers
  • Ranger Distress inks: Carved Pumpkin, Peeled Paint and Hickory Smoke

This is a pretty adorable image of the kitties among the pumpkins by Newton’s Nook. Their animal designs are some of my favorites! I colored the image with Copic markers and trimmed it out so no white was showing. I inked the edges with a black Sharpie to cover any white paper edges. The sentiment is heat embossed, adding a little shine to the words. I trimmed the sentiment flag-style. Before I adhered the foreground, I applied some Distress inks to the patterned paper, beginning with Hickory Smoke and then adding Peeled Paint ink for a colorful shadow beneath the image. I popped up the image with dimensional adhesive and then edged the panel with Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink. Thanks for visiting today.

Give Thanks

  • Die – Spellbinders – Swirl Happy Birthday Frame
  • Patterned papers – Authentique Pleasant Collection
  • Sequins – Neat & Tangled Festive Fall Sequin Mix
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Ranger Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin

This is a very simple, yet elegant card with no stamping. It features one of the beautiful vintage images from Authentique’s Pleasant collection, framed with a decorative Spellbinders die cut. I edged the pumpkin image and the patterned background piece with Carved Pumpkin Distress ink. I popped up the pumpkin image onto the frame and adhered the whole thing to a white card base. I simply added a few sequins among the flowers as a final touch and that was it! Anything more would seem overpowering to me, but I tend to design on the side of simplicity. Thanks for stopping by.

Authentique Trick or Treat

  • Paper – Authentique Mysterious collection: “Mysterious Six” (main image) and “Mysterious Five”
  • Pebbles Trick or Treat collection: “Candy Corn”
  • October Afternoon: Witch Hazel collection: “Whisker of Cat”
  • Web – American Crafts Details: Halloween – Spider web doilies
  • Bat brad – Hot off the Press
  • Ribbon – May Arts
  • Black crocheted lace
  • Black cardstock

I had fun creating this festive Halloween card featuring patterned papers. I love vintage Halloween images, so I chose this witch and cat for the focal point of this card. I pulled all kinds of things from my stash, some of which I’ve had for a number of years, to add to this card. I must admit, it took me a long time to come up with the completed design. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by.

I love mixing and matching elements from different Lawn Fawn sets! I love the new musical critter set, and it was fun to place them on the big stump from the “Forest Feast” set in my stash. I made this card for my husband, and we are enjoying the company of our one son who just returned home for the summer from his first year of college. Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Easter!

  • Patterned paper – Authentique Jubilee Collection: Jubilee Six and Jubilee Three
  • Die – Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Scalloped
  • Cardstock – KaiserCraft
  • Paper flowers
  • Ranger Distress Mica Spray – Tarnished Brass
  • Rose – Maya Road

For this card I layered the “Happy Easter” panel from the Authentique Jubilee “Jubilee Six” paper onto a pink scalloped panel that I cut with the Lawn Fawn die. I layered that onto another pretty Authentique paper from the Jubilee collection called “Jubilee Three.” I tied the ribbon around the layers and adhered the whole thing to a pink card base.

I colored the flowers to match the papers. For the larger flower, I sprayed it with mica spray and topped it with a smaller paper flower that I colored with a Copic marker (R81). I added a pink plastic button for the flower center and adhered the flower bundle to the base of the card above the ribbon. I added the small plastic rose to the top left of the card.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Easter!

Bunny & Chicks Tag Card

  • Paper – Authentique “Jubilee Six,” “Jubilee Two”
  • Dies –
    • My Favorite Things “Stitched Traditional Tag”
    • Lawn Fawn “Stitched Circle Frames”
  • Stamps – Avery Elle “Loads of Wishes”
  • Cardstock – KaiserCard – Eggshell and Sprout
  • Embossing Powder – Ranger – “Tea Rose”
  • Ribbon
  • Ink – Ranger Distress Ink – Ripe Persimmon

This is another Easter card I created using the Authentique papers from the “Jubilee” collections. I cut the bunny image from the “Jubilee Six” paper with the My Favorite Things tag die, which is the centerpiece of the card. The background (green print) panel and the carrot strip are both from Jubilee papers as well. All of the cut pieces were edged with Ripe Persimmon ink to tie the elements together. Thanks for visiting.

Vintage Bunny with Trowel

  • Patterned paper –
    • Card base – Authentique Jubilee Two Collection:  “Authentique Lace Two”
    • Bunny image – Authentique Jubiliee Collection:  “Jubilee Two”
  • Die – Lawn Fawn “Scalloped Rectangle Stackables”
  • Stamp – Avery Elle “Loads of Wishes”
  • Washi tape
  • Ranger Distress Ink – Walnut Stain
  • Miniature trowel

I designed this card for a class I’m teaching at Runaway Art and Craft Studio (class description). This is one of four Easter cards in the class, all using Authentique Easter papers. The image with the bunny and chicks comes from the Authentique Jubilee paper collection. I cut the bunny image from that collection, added a strip of washi tape and inked the edges to keep a vintage look. I added a small trowel, tying twine around the handle with a bow for an additional Spring touch. I’ve been waiting to find the perfect excuse to use those little trowels–they’re so doggone cute! I stamped the sentiment and adhered the entire thing to the card base (made  from another lovely Authentique paper) that I die cut for a scalloped edge. A very simple card to share some Easter joy. Thanks for stopping by.

Challenge: Inspiration Destination Challenge #145 – Anything Goes

Goodbye, February! Be Mine.

  • Paper beverage napkin – Lady Jayne “Celebrate Floral Heart”
  • Stencils –
    • Stampers Anonymous – Tim Holtz Collection “Flames”
    • Ranger Ink – Dina Wakley Media “Viney”
  • Prima-Finnabair Art Basics 3-D Gloss Gel
  • Stamps – Ranger Ink – Dina Wakley Media “Scribbly Flowers”
  • Deli paper
  • Dina Wakley Media acrylic paint – magenta, lemon, lime and white
  • Tim Holtz Idea-ology tissue tape – “Laboratorie”
  • Sequins – Doodlebug Designs
  • OHTO Fude Ballpoint Pen – black
  • Krylon gold metallic pen
  • Black Cardstock – Bazzill

I created this mixed media card beginning with a beverage napkin that I adhered to a piece of Bristol paper with gel medium. I stamped and lightly painted some deli paper and added tissue tape to the piece. Then I applied the 3-D gloss gel through a couple of different stencils and allowed that to dry into a nice textured coating.

I have included a detailed photo so you can see the texture of the stenciled 3-D gel medium. It is pretty cool!

I loosely outlined the heart with the Fude Ball pen and then ran my metallic gold pen around the entire card, topping it off with a piece of ribbon and some sequins. I mounted the piece onto a black card base.  It is amazing what you can do with a paper napkin! Thanks for visiting.
