Here is my first card for 2014! I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches: Sketch #117 and kept it very clean and simple. I will have it be the first card in my Operation Write Home box, since I shipped off all of my cards at the end of 2013. Thanks for visiting today!

- Stamp – from Penny Black “Loads of Love” set
- Patterned papers – from My Mind’s Eye “Hootenanny” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Cardstock – BoBunny Back to Backs (Brilliant Blue Dot)
- Sakura Gelly Roll Pen – ClearStar
- (Inside) Action Wobble Spring
This is a fun card for my niece’s birthday. Although it is difficult to see (I refrained from including a little video showing the boing action of the spring-y sentiment inside!), the sentiment on the interior of the card wobbles on a little spring. Since I’ve just taken a quick Online Card Classes Insider class, I’m trying to pay more attention to the innards of my cards. I’ve had these little springs, so I wanted to use one for this. Below is a photo of the inside sentiment. I used Sketch 105 at Freshly Made Sketches for my design inspiration, and added a little sparkle with the Gelly Roll pen on the main image and the dotted line border around it. Thanks for visiting today!

- Paper – Steampunk image – Graphic45 “Steampunk Spells Collection”
- Paper – Hat, Black Lace and Chevron patterns – Bazzill “Arsenic & Lace” collection
- Paper – Orange – Basic Grey “Archaic: Rusty”
- Game Spinners – Tim Holtz Idea-ology
- Stamp – Hero Arts – Operation Write Home “Year Round Sentiments”
- Embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Silver

I made this card for my brother-in-law’s birthday. I used the Sketch #258 from Clean and Simple Stamping for inspiration. It was fun to use the image from the Graphic45 Steampunk paper as the focal point and then repeat some of the elements for an embellishment (you can see the embellishment more clearly in the close-up shot on the right). I embossed the sentiment so it was clearly visible on the darker patterned paper. Thanks for stopping by.

I made this card for a rubber ducky lover. I saw these stickers some time ago and knew I had to use them for Olivia! The stickers are vellum, so the duck looks translucent which makes it look pretty realistic. I used Sketch #243 at Clean & Simple Stamping for inspiration. Hope your day is just ducky and thanks for stopping by.

This is a birthday card for my mom. Today is her birthday: Happy Birthday, Mom! I used the Cardabilities Sketch #75 for inspiration. Mom kind of has a thing for cats 😉 so it seemed appropriate to use on of my Magenta cat stamps. Featuring this made me want to use them more! These papers were fun to use and layer, since the colors are muted it kept the design less busy for this relatively clean and simple designer. Thanks for visiting today.

Here is a great rabbit from The Cat’s Pajamas! I colored him with Copic markers and surrounded him with polka dots! I made up the design–didn’t borrow the design from any sketch this time around. I based my color pallet on the colors in the Glitz tape. Thanks for visiting today, and if possible, Go Forth and Eat Cake!

I made a clean and simple card with the current sketch at Unscripted Sketches #204. These papers are pretty loud, so they kind of are front and center on this card! But I think it makes a cheery birthday card with festive colors. Thanks for visiting.

I made this card for the OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge: Stripes. That was for midweek – LAST week, so I’m pretty behind. I colored this cupcake along with Sandy Allnock, Executive Director of Operation Write Home, during an online Copic Marker tutorial she did a couple of weeks ago. I could use some more practice! Well, thank you for visiting!
