- Stamp – from Impression Obsession “Vertical Greetings” set
- Patterned papers – Echo Park “Here and Now” collection
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I really liked this clean and simple card! The sketch is really fun, from Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #101. I gave the patterned papers a darker color backdrop to provide some contrast and then I outlined the majority of the perimeter with white pen for a little more contrast and some faux stitching. I used my favorite white pen for this which contains white acrylic paint. It doesn’t “skip” like a lot of pens and is made by Molotow, in the One4All line. The Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown this week is a challenge to make Thank You cards for our heroes to send home, so this will be perfect for that. Thanks for visiting today!

- Stamp – Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection “Falling Leaves”
- Patterned paper – BoBunny “Weekend Market Collection” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- String – Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paper String
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Ranger Distress Inks: Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey
For this Fall card, I used the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps: OWH Sketch #187. I stamped two leaves from my new Tim Holtz leaf set, which I love, and then distressed it with Ranger Distress Inks and spattered with water for a nice textured effect. I’m definitely in a distress ink phase right now–I can’t seem to get enough of that look! The paper string matches the Autumn theme as well. Thanks for stopping by.

This is a birthday card for a friend who receives a squirrely card from us each year while we all go camping together. I based this card’s design on Unscripted Sketches Summer Flashback Sketch #69. I distressed the patterned paper with Ranger Distress Inks and spattered with water to create a background that matched the stamped leaves and acorns, which I distressed with the same ink colors. I popped up the acorn and one of the oak leaves with dimensional adhesive for a little 3-D effect. I created this card outside on a picnic table up in the mountains while camping. I had some chipmunk friends nearby, just to set the mood! Thanks for visiting today and Happy Birthday, Allyn!
PostScript: This card was selected as one of the Top Three cards created and posted using Unscripted Sketches Summer Flashback Sketch #69! Hurray!

I like to make robot cards! When I saw the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge this week was cards for kids, that was what I automatically went to for my theme! I accented the card with silver, since the robots were brightly colored. It seemed like they should have something metallic about them! Thanks for stopping by.

I created this mixed media canvas on a whim, the first one I’ve attempted. It was fun to start with a canvas and acrylic paint and then to build layers on top using papers, stencils, chipboard, rubber stamps, etc. I made the flower out of tissue tape with a little bling in the center. The image is from a set I purchased from Lisa Vollrath at Ten Two Studios. There’s very little better than dressing up a cat! Have a great day!

I just had to put together a card! It has been a full week since I’ve really done anything (or at least finished it) with paper! I liked playing with these patterned papers and this sketch. The sketch is the Clean & Simple #252. The color scheme is a little unusual for me, but I just used the multi-colored paper as my guide. Thanks for visiting today.

- Die cuts – Simon Says Stamp/Memory Box: Outline Dahlia, Delicate Dahlia, Tilted Banners
- Stamp – Simon Says Stamp: Tilted Banner Sayings
- Patterned papers – Echo Park: All About A Boy
- Button embellishment – Heidi Grace Sunshower chipboard button
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Baker’s Twine – Doodlebug Designs
This was a fun card, even though it was a little bit of a stretch for me with the color scheme. It is another I made while taking the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2, which is nearing its end. I got some inspiration from one of the three card sketches offered this week and then selected one of the new color combos shared for us to play with this weekend. I used three different die cuts for this: two for the dahlia blossom and then another for the banner–all from Simon Says Stamp. All of the elements add up to a really brightly colored card! I added faux stitching (dots) around three sides and a little chipboard button in the flower’s center. Thanks for the visit.

- Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye “Blush” and “A Beautiful Life” 6 X 6″ pads; American Crafts (SKU 96436) 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Alphabet stickers – Pebbles “New Arrival ABC” – Brown
- Epoxy dimensional stickers – Sticko “Mosaic stickers” Clear Square
- Ranger Distress Inks
Welcome to my 401st post! I made this card as I followed along with the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2. I was inspired by the weekly sketch and one of the featured artist’s take on it, which used epoxy stickers and patterned paper. I’ve had epoxy stickers in my stash for YEARS, but seldom use them. So seeing them used was a great reminder and I do like the effect that the dimension gives. We were also challenged to work outside our comfort zone, and this sketch, along with the color palette for the week and using stickers were not overly comfortable for me, so I was stretched! Not only that I didn’t use stamps for this card, but I must confess to using my trusty Distress Inks around the edges! Thanks for visiting today.

I’m taking the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2, which is really packed with great information. I would highly recommend this class and have been pleased with many other classes offered by them. This week we are challenged to work with a specific color palette and three sketches, if we so desire. The color palette includes light and dark brown, light and dark magenta/purple and a light blue. I was inspired by a lesson Kristina Werner gave us and created the focal image on this card by creating a panel with Distress Inks on watercolor paper. I added some home-made spritzes of Distress ink with Perfect Pearls and layered some stamping and stenciled images. I then die cut this inkiness using a Spellbinders Vintage Label die and layered it atop a cardstock die cut a hair bigger that I offset. I created the sentiment and inked up all of the elements with chalk ink to tie together the color scheme with the lighter purple. Before I built the card, I tied baker’s twine onto the base and then applied the other elements on it using dimensional adhesive. Thanks for visiting!
