For this card I created a watercolor background and stamped over it with silhouette-style floral stamps. I used stamps from several different stamp sets to put this altogether. I always find mixing-up stamp sets to be fun. The current challenge (Challenge #16) for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group is to use watercoloring on your card or project. Here you’ve got my entry. Thanks for visiting.

Here is an Easter card, complete with a bunny and eggs! Challenge #15 at Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group is to make an Easter or Spring card this time around. I was inspired by Mojo Monday Sketch #390. I added some little touches of color with Copic markers to the stamped bunny and created the sentiment with my Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set (Milo’s ABCs). Both of the dies I used are from a Simon Says Stamp set (Frames). I heat embossed the little Memory Box flower stamp and then attached a sparkly button on top for a handmade embellishment. The papers feature lots of Springtime colors. Thanks for visiting by today.

- Simon Says Stamp “OWH – Brave” set
- Stencil – Stampers Anonymous Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi “Hydrangea”
- Ranger Distress Inks: Shaded Lilac, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Antique Linen, Mowed Lawn
- Cardstock – Ninah Solar White 80#
- Uni-Ball Signo Pen – white
This clean and simple (CAS) card features the hydrangea from a recent Stampers Anonymous stamp and stencil set. The Addicted to CAS Challenge #58 is to be inspired by the code word: Distress. I used Ranger Distress inks through the stencil after I stamped the hydrangea image. I also spattered dilluted Distress ink to tie the elements of the card together and still keep it one layer. I added some stippling with my white Signo pen to provide some texture and pattern to the image. This also fits the bill for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group Challenge #14, which is to create a one layer Clean and Simple Card. It is pretty challenging to create a single layer card! This will be a perfect card to send in my Operation Write Home box. Thanks for stopping by.

- Epoxy dots – Doodlebug Design “Limeade Assortment”
I’ve made another card featuring dots for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group. It is the last day for the spots and dots challenge there. For this card, I applied modeling paste through the stencil for a nice group of raised dots for a background. I used patterned paper with larger dots and then added some epoxy dots for a tri-fecta! This will be a nice Operation Write Home card for a hero to send home to a loved one. Thanks for visiting.

I was challenged to make a project with dots for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Group challenge this week. I used vellum with white polka dots for the background. I was able to repeat the white dot with the white brads that attached the vellum and the tag. This card’s focal point consisted of four diecuts layered together. I colored some white cardstock with Gelatos prior to die-cutting the butterfly. Thanks for visiting.

Instead of Black Friday, Operation Write Home decided to recognize the same day by hosting a Red Friday Bloghop featuring Love cards. I chose to create a card that could be used any time of year, not just on Valentine’s Day. I was inspired to use lots of hearts after visiting the bloggers and thought repeating the hearts by using the Tim Holtz stencil would be a fun way to go. The current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #7 is to use stencils as well, so I had fun with my crackle paste and used the Simon stamp set that is perfect for OWH cards! I popped up the little envelope for a little dimension above the heart background. Thanks for visiting.

- Stamp – from Simon Says Stamp “Leaves and Scribbles” set
- Dies – Simon Says Stamp “Frames” and “Thanks”
- Ranger Distress Inks: Forest Moss, Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Dried Marigold, and Evergreen Bough
- Cardstock – Neenah and Paper Accents
- Ranger Distress watercolor cardstock
- Ranger Glossy Accents
For today’s card, I created a watercolor background and image with Ranger Distress Inks. I did a wash with ink and lots of water for the background and then added some spatters of color. Next, I cut the decorative frame from 110 lb. Neenah white cardstock, which is very hefty. I adhered the thin outer frame horizontally and then added the center vertically in the middle with dimensional adhesive. I applied Distress inks directly to the stamp and then spritzed it with water. Once it was dry, I cut out the leaves and mounted it on top of the frames with a bit more dimensional adhesive. The word “thanks” is a die-cut that I cut out of some cardstock that I found in my stash that matched some of my ink, and then added Glossy Accents on top for some shine to set the sentiment off a little bit.
I’m submitting this card in two challenges: this week’s Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #4 is watercoloring and the Craft Stamper October Take It Make It Challenge which is multi-colored stamping.

- Die – Simon Says Stamp (Stamptember) “Thanks”
- Washi tape – Queen & Co. Trendy Tape
- Cardstock – Neenah & Paper Accents
I really enjoyed making this card, partially because of the sheer simplicity of it and also its clean design and color scheme. I used the current sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL 311). I’ve been hoarding a few rolls of washi tape for a couple of years, so I thought this might be a good time to pull it out. And based on my available stash, the black, white and red color scheme was a no brainer–plus I always like to add grey with those colors, so I mounted my base onto a grey card with dimensional adhesive. The die cut was made with a great new die from Simon Says Stamp. This will be a perfect Operation Write Home card. Thanks for visiting today.

It is always good to incorporate a squirrel into any card! This Valentine is for my son, who is rather fond of these furry creatures. This design, which I made up as I went, is pretty fun with some of the elements extending over the edge of the card base. CAS-ual Friday Challenge #127 this week is to do just that. It also is a perfect card for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Have a Heart. I pulled a number of different supplies out of my stash for this. There was glitter and shine in the paper, stickers, and faux stitching that I drew around the edges with glitter pen. The only thing that I hadn’t used before was the patterned paper and the squirrel die. Since I was pretty much snowed-in, I had to use my stash, right? So I guess this is appropriate to post for the Shopping Our Stash Challenge #137: Love Me Tender. Thanks for visiting today.
