- Stamps – Close To My Heart “Seasons and Nature: Snowflakes”
- Stencil – Tattered Angels “Winder Crystals” Glimmer Screens Stencils
- Ranger Distress inks – Mulled Lavendar, Iced Spruce, Seedless Preserves, Weathered Wood
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Sheer ribbon
I had fun making the background for this card with subtle layers of ink. I used the snowflake stencil with Distress inks, applying the ink with a foam applicator and blending. Then I stamped snowflakes and added the ribbon and sentiment to add dimension and pull it all together. I then layered the whole thing on a lavendar card. I created this for the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Snow Much Fun Challenge for the Midweek Throwdown a couple of weeks ago (a little delayed!). Thanks for stopping by.

- Stamp – Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection “Falling Leaves”
- Patterned paper – BoBunny “Weekend Market Collection” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- String – Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paper String
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Ranger Distress Inks: Walnut Stain, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey
For this Fall card, I used the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps: OWH Sketch #187. I stamped two leaves from my new Tim Holtz leaf set, which I love, and then distressed it with Ranger Distress Inks and spattered with water for a nice textured effect. I’m definitely in a distress ink phase right now–I can’t seem to get enough of that look! The paper string matches the Autumn theme as well. Thanks for stopping by.

- Stamp – Stampendous “Botz Quotz”
- Patterned papers – Recollections “Rockets ‘n’ Space: Blast Off and Star Map”
- Bling – Michaels Pearl Stickers
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I like to make robot cards! When I saw the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge this week was cards for kids, that was what I automatically went to for my theme! I accented the card with silver, since the robots were brightly colored. It seemed like they should have something metallic about them! Thanks for stopping by.

- Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye “Come Away with Me” 6″ X 6″ paper pad

This week’s Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown challenge was to create Friendship cards. I showcased some pretty floral papers for this one and created a focal point with the sentiment. Hopefully it will cheer the recipient up a little. Thanks for visiting today.

Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye Collectable Collection “Notable – Love This – Devoted” and “Remarkable – Handsome – Adorable”
Flowers – Prima – Eire Floral Collection
Sentiment stamp – Simon Says Stamp “Square Sayings” set
Border punch – Stampin Up “Scallop Edge”
Cardstock – BoBunny and Bazzill
I just had to put together a card! It has been a full week since I’ve really done anything (or at least finished it) with paper! I liked playing with these patterned papers and this sketch. The sketch is the Clean & Simple #252. The color scheme is a little unusual for me, but I just used the multi-colored paper as my guide. Thanks for visiting today.

- Die cuts – Simon Says Stamp/Memory Box: Outline Dahlia, Delicate Dahlia, Tilted Banners
- Stamp – Simon Says Stamp: Tilted Banner Sayings
- Patterned papers – Echo Park: All About A Boy
- Button embellishment – Heidi Grace Sunshower chipboard button
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Baker’s Twine – Doodlebug Designs
This was a fun card, even though it was a little bit of a stretch for me with the color scheme. It is another I made while taking the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2, which is nearing its end. I got some inspiration from one of the three card sketches offered this week and then selected one of the new color combos shared for us to play with this weekend. I used three different die cuts for this: two for the dahlia blossom and then another for the banner–all from Simon Says Stamp. All of the elements add up to a really brightly colored card! I added faux stitching (dots) around three sides and a little chipboard button in the flower’s center. Thanks for the visit.

- Stamps – My Favorite Things “Flopsy Goes Camping”
- Stencil – The Crafter’s Workshop “Quatrefoil” by Ronda Palazzari
- Patterned paper – Basic Grey “Out of Print”
- Copic Markers and Ranger Distress Ink
- Cardstock – Bazzill
It is my habit to take a little bit of stamping and cardmaking stuff with me when I go camping. I set-up on a picnic table or a stump (really!) and ink away. I seem to be particularly drawn to distress techniques, since they are already kind of messy and a little dirt won’t hurt! I managed to make five cards and a couple of tags on our trip this past weekend. So in the spirit of camping, I thought I’d use this marshmallow-toasting bunny stamp I received during the OWH fundraiser. I also followed the color theory recommendations in the most recent OWH Design Bootcamp to use a major, minor and accent color for a nicely balanced palette. I created the background using Chipped Sapphire Distress ink and pounced it through the stencil. It really looks like patterned paper when it’s done. I tried to vary the application of ink so it is lighter and darker across the background, and if you use your imagination, could emulate the night sky. The little campfire is colored with Copics. The bunny is pure white and popped up for a little dimension. Thanks for visiting.

- Stamps – My Mind’s Eye “Find Your Wings and Fly”
- Sentiment stamp – Impression Obsession “Thinking of You”
- Patterned papers – Fancy Pants “Swagger” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Tape sticker – Fancy Pants “Swagger”
- Diecuts made from Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Nine”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Kraft paper
Here we have a mustachioed card! The Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge this week was to create masculine cards for our heroes to send home. I really wanted to use the “Swagger” patterned papers for this and decided that they would work well with the 365 Cards Day 188 Super Sketchy Sunday Sketch. I had a good time stretching this sketch to work with the elements I’d chosen. Thanks for stopping by!

- Stamps – Lawn Fawn “Critters in the Burbs” set
- Patterned papers – Echo Park “All About A Boy”
- Bling – Mark Richards Crystal Stickers
- Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny Dots
I created this card from ideas offered during the first week of Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 — and also ideas I gleaned from the Pattern Play class a few months ago. I used this week’s color scheme, along with one of the three sketches provided this week. I added some sparkly touches with my Sakura Gel Pens on the cat and in faux stitching around the edges. Thanks for visiting.

- Stamp – from Hero Arts “Live Life” set
- Embossing Folder – from Cuttlebug “Decorative Tile” set
- Twine – The Cat’s Pajamas “Peppermint”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
Here is another card for my OWH box, which I should send off pretty soon. I made it for the OWH Midweek Throwdown Color Challenge this week to use a red, white, blue and Kraft color scheme on a card. I created a simple design with some a little bit of texture to enhance it. I like the contrast you get with this color scheme. Didn’t get it posted in time for the 4th! Have a great day!
