Fluffles Valentine

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Fluffles Romance”
  • Embossing folder – Sizzix “Bohemian Lace Set”
  • Ribbon – KI Memories “Love Sashes”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I  colored the stamped kitty pair with Copic markers and then cut them out (also known as fussy cutting!) to pop them up against the embossed background. I added a scrap of patterned paper from my stash and a strip of ribbon across to add more hearts. Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps had a tutorial and challenge this week for Fussy Cutting, so I created this card, testing out my cutting skills. ‘Tis the season for creating lots of valentines for the troops to mail home. Thanks for stopping by today.

Midweek Throwdown Valentine

  • Darice “Layered Hearts” embossing folder
  • Basic Grey “Two Scoops: Swirl”
  • Stamp – Hero Arts “Newspaper Heart”
  • Ranger Distress Inks
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
Now is the time to make Valentines for our troops overseas. I need to make a lot to send off to Operation Write Home (OWH) for our heroes to send home. This is a simple card I made in response to the OWH Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown challenge, which was a call for Valentines. I played around with dry embossed hearts and a stamped heart, adding some Distress inks to the edges. Thanks for stopping by today.

OWH Sketch #144 – Thank You

  • Stamp – Inky Antics “Italic Thank You”
  • Die cut flower – made with Spellbinders Shapeabilities “Floral Doily Motifs”
  • Embossing folder – Sizzix/Hero Arts “Chevrons & Flourishes set”
  • Brad (flower center) – from My Mind’s Eye: Lush “Turquoise Decorative Brads” set
  • Cardstock – BoBunny and Bazzill
  • Corner punch – Fiskars 4 in 1 “Spiral” embossing corner punch

I used Sketch #144 at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps for this thank you card. The color scheme is in response to 365 Cards Day 247 Color Challenge. This color scheme was a little bit of a stretch for me, but that’s why they call it a challenge! I repeated the swirl motif in the texture of the embossing folder and the BoBunny cardstock. The decorative corners also repeats a similar shape. Thanks for visiting today.

Happy Holidays – Online Card Classes Day 3

  • Cuttlebug embossing folders – “Holly Ribbons” and “Swiss Dots”
  • Stamps – Stamper’s Anonymous Tim Holtz collection – “Holly Bough Sprig”
  • Sentiment stamp – Rubber Soul “Holiday Whimsical”
  • Berries made with Glass Effect Gel “Carmine” by Viva Décor
  • Copic markers E81 – Ivory, G43 – Pistachio
  • Ranger Distress Stain – Picket Fence
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Distress inks – Bundled sage and Tea dye

I was inspired to make this card this week during Day 3 of the Online Card Classes “Holiday Card Workshop” that I’m currently taking. The background, which is a dry embossing technique, was made with the different combination of supplies: Copic markers and Picket Fence Distress Stain applied to an embossed piece. I created the translucent holly berries with my Glass Effect Gel pen by Viva Décor. I blended some Distress inks around the edges of all the pieces to tie the colors together, attempting to match up my Copic colors with my Ranger Distress Ink colors! Thanks for visiting today.

OWH Sketch Challenge #139

  • Stamps – Hero Arts “Sweet Owls”
  • Patterned papers – MME “Reunion” collection
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Seventeen”
  • Large paper punches – Marvy Oval Mega and Giga Punches
  • Border punch – Martha Stewart
  • Embossing Folder – Sizzix “Bohemian Lace” set
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I used Sketch #139 at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps to make this card. It was fun to use this owl set and kind of match up the colors with the papers. I colored the owl and branch with Copic markers and popped up the owl oval with dimensional adhesive. I rounded the top corners of the card base to repeat the rounded corners on the die cut. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #53

  • Digital image – Dover Publishing
  • Embossing folder – Cuttlebug “Decorative Tile Set”
  • Patterned papers – SEI Entrada Collection: “Beni Savanna, Goblet, and Etosha Plain”
  • Dies – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Standard Circles Large”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Pens – Sakura Gelly Roll Sparkle Pens

I created this card using the current sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches for Challenge #53. I recently purchased some really nice SEI papers with copper foil in the patterns. I added some additional sparkle around the image with some faux stitched dots. Thanks for visiting today.

365 Cards – Day 196 – Keep it simple

  • Stamps – Inkadinkado “Pumpkin Swirl Mini” and Memory Box “Fall Combo”
  • Kraft paper
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust pen – Copper star
  • Embossing powder – Stampendous matte clear

I made a clean and simple card for the 365 Cards Day 196 Challenge: Keep It Simple. Truly clean and simple cards can be quite a challenge. I decided to make a Fall card with lots of white space. I stamped the pumpkin with orange pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it some texture. The faux stitching with the sparkly gel pen tied the elements together a bit. Thanks for visiting today.

Mojo Monday Sketch #256 – Iris

  • Stamps – JustRite “Botanical Medallions & Banners”
  • Die cut – made with JustRite (Spellbinders) “Nested Oval Medallion Labels”
  • Patterned paper – SEI “Silver Valley” – 6 X 6″ pad
  • Embossing folder – Sizzix “Damask and Regal Flourishes” Texture Fades
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and WorldWin
  • Pearls made with Viva Decor Pearl Pen – Silver Chrome

This card features stamped images from JustRite and the nifty dies that match the stamps (or vice versa!). I stamped both the irises and the frame with this set. I colored the irises with Copic markers, popped them up with dimensional adhesive, and accented the frame with pearls made with my handy dandy silver pearl pen. Pearl pens are my favorite supply right now!  The sketch is this week’s from Mojo Monday Sketch #256. The card base is metallic silver from Bazzill, which sets off the silver in the patterned paper and the pearls. Thanks for visiting.

  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Out of Print” collection (6 X 6″ pad)
  • Cardstock – WorldWin
  • Black rickrack
  • Embossing powder – Stampendous “Detail Black”

I made this 6 X 6″ square card using inspiration from CPS Sketch #280. I heat embossed the flower with detail black embossing powder to create a crisp, shiny image. I repeated the black in some of the accent papers to pull the card together. Thanks for stopping by today.

Clean and Simple Stamping – Sketch 205 – I Miss You

  • Stamp – Hero Arts OWH set “Year Round Sentiments”
  • Patterned paper – Creative Imaginations Samantha Walker collection “Tea Party Stripes”

This is a clean and simple card featuring a new embossing folder I just found. This sketch is Clean and Simple Stamping Sketch #205, and I was pleased the sketch seemed perfect for this folder design. The sentiment is heat embossed in white and will be another good one for my Operation Write Home box. Thanks for visiting.
