- Stamps – from Avery Elle “Oh Happy Day” set
- Patterned paper – Pebbles “We Go Together: XOXO”
- Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Standard Circles Large”
- Epoxy hearts – Pebbles
- Cardstock – BoBunny and Bazzill
I used Sketch #167 at Freshly Made Sketches for this card today. For the focal image I used Ranger Distress Ink for the base color and then stamped the Avery Elle stamps over it with more intense colors. This is a very Clean and Simple card, with the sketch and variety of papers taking center stage. It was fun to use the little epoxy hearts to echo the patterned paper for just a small touch of interest. This will be a nice addition to my Operation Write Home shipment also! Thanks for visiting.

- Dies – Memory Box “Perched Reed Bird” and “Woodland Branch”
- Stamp – Avery Elle “Oh Happy Day”
- Patterned paper – Crate Paper “The Pier: Surf Shop” (both sides)
- Brads – Creative Impressions
- Embossing Powder – Stampendous – Aqua
- Faber Castell Gelatos
- Cardstock – Bazzill
For this clean and simple card, I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches (#153). I die cut the bird from cardstock on which I’d blended several colors of Gelatos with a baby wipe. After it was cut, I added a little more color with Gelatos and blended the colors together until I was happy with the look. I was able to match the color of the bird with my embossing powder, which I was pretty pleased about! I picked up the green in the bird and the patterned paper with the brads.
On another note, as far as I know, I don’t have a chicken stamp! The Shopping Our Stash challenge for this week is to create a card with a chicken image (because it is Chicken Month), or to use another type of bird image. So I opted for this little bird. Thanks for visiting today.

- Patterned paper – Heidi Swapp “Favorite Things” 6 X 6″ paper pad
- Emobssing folder – Cuttlebug – Anna Griffin “Pirouette”
- Die – Lil’ Inker Designs “Hello Word”
- Felt Flower – Hero Arts “Buttons Galore”
- Sequins – Doodlebug Designs
- Paper String – Tim Holtz Idea-ology
For this card, I used Freshly Made Sketches #147 as a guide. I thought the sequins helped tie the pattern in the floral paper to the background by repeating the round motif and colors a little bit. I dug deeply in my stash for the felt button. I think I’ve had those for years and still have a few more. Such treasure! Thanks for stopping by today.

- Stamps – 100 Proof Press “Chipmunk”, Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
- Ranger Distress Inks – Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I created this simple card while out among squirrels of this kind. We went camping in Central Oregon and fed our squirrel and chipmunk friends throughout the weekend. I colored the torn cardstock with Distress Inks to match the colors around me and those I used in the chipmunk image. I used the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches (#146) when I put this card together. I have been taken with torn paper edges lately–it seemed appropriate to tear and color the accents for a natural feel for this card. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

This is a baby Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel. I discovered him hanging out with his sibling and Mom (?) right by our campsite. Mom was begging for nut handouts and sitting on our laps while munching peanuts. The baby was not nearly as brazen! Is it cute or what??

- Stamps – Memory Box “Penguins at Play” (penguin and bow tie) and My Mind’s Eye “Find Your Wings and Fly” (Hello bubble)
- Patterned papers – Pebbles “Walnut Grove: Nancy” (black and white chevrons), BoBunny Dot-to-Dot “Licorice Dot” (black flourish) and Lawn Fawn “Bright Side” collection (bow tie)
- Stickers – Heidi Swapp enamel stickers
- Cardstock – Bazzill
What’s black and white and blue all over? Well, I wish I could come up with a good punch line. The blue gives the penguin a nice icy touch! I made this card for two different challenges. The sketch is the current one at Freshly Made Sketches #141. I also used a black and white, plus one more color pallette that included a word bubble in response to the Friday Mashup #165 It’s All About the Bubble challenge. Whew! It is always fun to use this Memory Box penguin set because you can dress him up for any occasion. This was just a simple bow tie day! I stamped the bow tie on a piece of patterned paper to dress him up a bit. Thanks for stopping by today!

- Stamp – Penny Black “Paris”
- Border punch – EK Success “Fleur de Lis”
- Patterned paper – Kaiser Craft “Kaleidoscope”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
As I’ve made quite obvious in the naming of this post, I do not speak French! But that was the attempt from someone with a Spanish minor! I stamped this image from Penny Black and then colored it with watercolor pencils and a water brush. I used Sketch #137 from Freshly Made Sketches, which was perfect for this long image. Thanks for stopping by today.

- Digital image – Doodle Pantry “Nutty for You”
- Stamps – Stampendous “Tiny Acorns” and Simon Says Stamp “Giving Thanks”
- Patterned paper – Doodlebug Designs Kraft in Color 6 X 6″ pad
- Cardstock – Bazzill
It was fun to create this card using Sketch #125 at Freshly Made Sketches. I must admit though, such a simple sketch almost made designing it more difficult! I got to use a squirrel image, which is always a plus! I colored this guy from Doodle Pantry with Copic markers, along with the little acorn stamped images. After fussy cutting them, I popped-up both the squirrel and the acorns with a little bit of dimensional adhesive. It will be a great OWH card for a child. Thanks for visiting today.

- Patterned papers – Heidi Grace “Sunshowers” 8 X 8″ paper pad
- Stamp – Printworks “Thank You”
- Border punch – Stampin’ Up “Scallop Edge”
- Rhinestones – Queen & Company – Irredescent
I really liked this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches: #124. I used it to feature three different patterned papers from the same collection for this card. I edged the paper pieces with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to add a little definition to the edges. I am making a few Thank You cards for my Operation Write Home box, since that is a popular sentiment for the troops to use when sending a card. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamp – Unknown (Someone stamped this for me and I can’t remember the details!)
- Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye Collectable papers: Unforgettable “You Are” Charm Paper and Remarkable “Beautiful” Grace Paper
- Border punch – Martha Stewart Embossed Zig Zag Edger
- Copic markers

I am in a bunny phase now. I’m making a number of Operation Write Home cards featuring bunnies. Not necessarily Easter cards, because that limits their use to just that holiday. But bunnies are Spring-y and cute and I guess I have a fair number in my stash. Today I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, which is Sketch #122. I unearthed a couple of these bunnies stamped off for me. I don’t know the origin of this stamp, so if anyone can enlighten me, I’d appreciate it. I colored him and his carrot with Copic markers and layered him so he’d stand out. I chose some hexagon patterned paper for a backdrop and will add him to the OWH Midweek Throwdown Hexagon Challenge from last week. Thanks for stopping by.

I used this fantastic sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for today’s card – Sketch #119. It is a pretty unusual, asymmetrical design and is really good for showing off patterned papers. This card is all about shapes and patterns. Thanks for visiting today.
