Joyful, Merry and Bright Owl

owl-christmas

  • Patterned paper – Carta Bella “Simple Gifts” (both sides)
  • Stamps – I’m pretty sure are Hero Arts sentiment stamps (I borrowed them!)
  • Bling – Clear and red rhinestones
  • Cardstock – WorldWin

This is a very simple card, made from patterned paper and the paper is the star. I focused on the owl image on the paper and stamped the sentiments around the owl, then added a border from the reverse side of the paper. I finished it up with some bling and that is it! I created this during some time spent doing demonstrations in our local paper arts store, Runaway Art and Craft Studio. Thanks for visiting.

Holiday Fox Card

  • Stamps and Dies – Lawn Fawn “Joy to the Woods”
  • Patterned paper – Carta Bella “Merry Alphabet”
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities – Large Standard Circles
  • Red cardstock
  • Navy speckled cardstock
  • Copic Markers

I colored the stamped trees, fox, star and ornaments with Copic markers and created a Wintry little scene in the circular opening. The navy cardstock has specks that look a little like distant stars or SNOW as a backdrop for the large die-cut star. This is an entry for the Paper Players Challenge #274 “Let it Snow.” Thanks for stopping by.

  • Die – Hero Arts Frame cuts “Stylish Stars Fancy Dies”
  • Patterned papers – BoBunny “Key Lime Collection” 6 X 6″ paper pad

Here is a kid’s card for Operation Write Home, starring Mr. Squirrel! I used a Hero Arts star die cut as a backdrop for him. The patterned papers I used for the star and the chevron background are from BoBunny. I colored Mr. Squirrel, also from Hero Arts, with Copic markers. I popped the elements up slightly with thin dimensional adhesive. I was inspired by Sketch #194 at Freshly Made Sketches for this card design. Thanks for visiting.

Happy Birthday in Rainbow Colors

SSSflickrchallenge#22

  • Stamps – Simon Says Stamp – “Happy & Smile” set and “Baby Party Animals” set
  • Stencil – Simon Says Stamp – “Grid”
  • Ranger Distress Inks: Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Crushed Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, and Seedless Preserves
  • Cardstock – Neenah

For the background, I applied each of the Distress Inks, one at a time, with a foam applicator through the grid stencil. I used a linear application to give it a rainbow look. I colored the animals with Copic markers. I created this card for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #22, which is to create a card using the colors of the rainbow. Thanks for visiting today.

Some Birdie Misses You

owh-somebirdie

  • Stamps – Hero Arts “OWH Missing You”
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels One”
  • Border punch – Stampin’ Up “Scallop Edge”
  • Patterned paper – Heidi Grace “Sunshowers”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • White Signo Uni-Ball pen

This card just made me happyto make, with happy colors and a funny bird. Hopefully it will cheer the recipient up. It will go in my final Operation Write Home shipment and hopefully a service member will mail this home to a child who needs a smile. I also made this for Challenge #64 at Addicted to CAS, where the challenge is to make a clean and simple card with an animal. I used some patterned paper and colored the bird with Copic markers. I liked keeping the “white space” on the right hand side with the sentiment. I pulled the whole design together with the hand-drawn “stitching.” I’m coloring for at least 10 minutes everyday for The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge, which is a fun addition to any day! Thanks for visiting.

Soaring Bunny

TCP-SoaringBunny

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Soar” set
  • Patterned paper – Reminisce “Blast Off”
  • Cardstock – Paper Accents
  • Copic markers

I was inspired by the sketch for the latest Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (#179) when I made this card. It was meant to be, using the spacey bunny from one of my many The Cat’s Pajamas set with my newly acquired patterned paper from Reminisce. I colored all of the stamped images, including the sentiment, with Copics. A clean and simple design with my take on the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

The Cat’s Pajamas Spring Blog Hop

TCPBlogHopWelcome to my stop on The Cat’s Pajamas Spring Blog Hop 2015! We are celebrating the wonderful new Spring release of new stamps, dies and templates! If you are hopping along, you should have just come from Wendy M.’s blog, Wake Up with Wendy. The top of the hop is at Lisa’s blog, My Little Creative Escape. Today I’ve got some major muscle groups working!

tcp-bloghop-2015

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “You Got This” set
  • Patterned papers – Crate Paper “Flea Market” 6 X 6″ paper pad
  • Die cuts:
    • The Cat’s Pajamas “Wavy Stitched Border”
    • Spellbinders Nestabilities “Lacey Circles”
  • Cardstock – BoBunny Island Mist Double Dot and Paper Accents

Our bunny friend is proving himself, even by lifting the added weight of that little bird! I took some liberties with Sketch 286 so I could incorporate the die cut across the top made with the Wavy Stitched Border die. I colored the bunny with Copic markers and trimmed him out and popped him up for a little dimension. Or is he a she??

I’m looking forward to playing more with the products in the new release. Some of my all-time favorite critters are featured, so I can’t go wrong! Thanks for stopping by today.
