This is a winter friendship card that I put in my latest OWH box this week. I used the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps: Sketch #196. There was no stamping on this card, I just used the cardstock weight stickers that are part of this Authentique collection. Thanks for visiting today!

- Stamps – Art Impressions “Snowman” and “WC Blue Bird Left”
- Patterned papers – Echo Park “Bundle of Joy” 6 X 6″ pad
- Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Deckled Rectangles Large”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
This was the last card I tucked into my Operation Write Home box this morning before shipping it off. Winter cards (not Christmas) are in demand, so I crafted this snowman card. The stamps are from an Art Impressions set, and I colored the images with Copic markers. I used the current sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping: Sketch #264 for design inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

- Stamp – Hero Arts “Merry Christmas Collage”
- Cardstock – BoBunny Back to Back Dots and Bazzill
- Crystal Stickers – Mark Richards Inc.
- Ranger Distress Inks – Pine Needles, Aged Mahogany, Walnut Stain
Another very simple card, showcasing the collage image of this Hero Arts stamp. I used Distress Inks to color it and layered it with contrasting colors. My Christmas deadline for Operation Write Home is this week, so I need to get this in the mail to my shipper! Thank you for the visit!

- Stamps – Close To My Heart “Seasons and Nature: Snowflakes”
- Stencil – Tattered Angels “Winder Crystals” Glimmer Screens Stencils
- Ranger Distress inks – Mulled Lavendar, Iced Spruce, Seedless Preserves, Weathered Wood
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Sheer ribbon
I had fun making the background for this card with subtle layers of ink. I used the snowflake stencil with Distress inks, applying the ink with a foam applicator and blending. Then I stamped snowflakes and added the ribbon and sentiment to add dimension and pull it all together. I then layered the whole thing on a lavendar card. I created this for the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Snow Much Fun Challenge for the Midweek Throwdown a couple of weeks ago (a little delayed!). Thanks for stopping by.

- Stamps – Inkadinkado “Snow Penguin” set
- Patterned paper – Echo Park “Very Merry Christmas”
- Die cuts – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Lacey Ovals” and “Resplendent Rectangles”
- Embossing folder – Cuttlebug

I had to make another card for the Nature of Christmas Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps! The penguin stamps were calling me! So I colored this guy with Copic markers and popped him up a little bit with dimensional adhesive, along with the sentiment. I like the light blue and red with the black and white for a nicely contrasting color scheme. This could be used by our heroes as a Winter card, since there isn’t anything directly Christmas-y about it. Thanks for visiting today!

I can think of few things better than having animals on one’s Christmas cards. Just my opinion. So this week’s Midweek Throwdown at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps is to create a Christmas card featuring something from nature. You can see where I immediately jumped. The Cat’s Pajamas always makes outstanding animal stamps–of course, they are often penguins which make them even more outstanding! I colored the image with Copic markers and added some Glossy Accents to the little fishing hole to make it look like water. The snowflake die cut is to convince you that it is cold there! Thanks for checking this out today!

- Stamp – Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection “Umbrella Man”
- Embossing Folder – Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades “Gears”
- Ranger Foil Cardstock
- Paint color swatch
- Border Punch – EK Success
- Cardstock – BoBunny
I used the lesson on Day 1 of Creative Chemistry 102 (Online Card Classes) as a point of departure for the background for this card, using the “Industrial” technique. I embossed the foil cardstock after stamping the image, which was a departure from the lesson! I added a paint swatch for a kind of ombre accent along the side. Thanks for visiting today.
