Monthly Archives: February 2012

- Digital image – Crafting with Jack (colored with Copic markers)
- Die cuts – Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Lacey Ovals”
- Patterned papers – Graphics 45 “Tropical Travelogue Collection: Island Jewel” and BoBunny Back to Basics “Clover Dot”
- Border punch – EK Success “Open Scallop” edger punch
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Stickles – Lime Green and Rock Candy Distress Stickles
I made this card for the current Crafter’s Digital Art Center Progressive Freebie Challenge. I colored the digital image from Crafting with Jack with Copic markers and accented it with Stickles. I’m not used to using glitter, since many of my cards are for Operation Write Home! So this was a little stretch for me! This card will go to an Irish friend. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamps – Kodomo Inc. “Lily Pad” and Inkadinkado “Happy Birthday”
- Patterned papers – Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paper Stash “Retro Grunge”
- Letters – American Crafts “Nutmeg” glossy letter stickers
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I used CPS Sketch #254 to make this card, which is for a friend and co-worker whose birthday falls on Leap Day. He was born in 1956, and is celebrating his 14th birthday this year! The inside sentiment says “May 14 candles leap onto your cake!” It was a fun card to make with all of the layers in the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

- Stamps – Inkadinkado “Peony Print” and Hero Arts “Mother’s Day Message”
- Die cut – Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Labels Seventeen”
- Embossing folder – Cuttlebug “Tiny Bubbles”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- ColorBox Chalk inks and ribbon from stash
I made this card in response to a challenge from a group of cardmaking friends. The technique involves stamping an image on a die cut label and then running the shape through an embossing folder. I want to play with this some more–you learn things by making the first one! This will go with my Mother’s Day shipment to OWH. Thanks for visiting.

- Stamp – PSX “Botanical Sunflower Collage”
- Cardstock – Bazzill Basics and BoBunny
- Flowers – KaiserCraft Flowers “Cumquat”
- Brad – Recollections
- Colored with Prismacolor pencils
This card was inspired by the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps. For Sketch Challenge #109, I chose to make a card for one of our heroes to mail to his/her mom, since that is a big focus for us right now. We need lots of Mother’s Day and cards for Mom right now. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamp – Stampington & Company “Ledger Butterfly”
- Patterned paper – Basic Grey “Hello Luscious” 6 X 6″ Paper Pad
- Embossing Folder – Cuttlebug “Seeing Spots”
- Cardstock – WorldWin
- Inks – Ranger Distress Inks
- Baker’s Twine
I made this card for the OWH Sketch Challenge #107. It is a very basic sketch that you can do a lot with. I played with Ranger Distreess Inks again on this card, applying the ink to the edges of all the paper with a lot of shading on the butterfly image. Thank you for stopping by.

- Patterned paper – Graphic45 “Tropical Travelogue Collection: Oceania” (both sides)
- Stamp – Hero Arts “Year Round Sentiments”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Border punch – Stampin’ Up “Scallop Edge”
This was a fun card to make for me. It really shows off the “Oceania” paper by Graphic45 and also takes advantage of the border printed on the paper. It also provided me an opportunity to use my new Hero Arts set that was made just for Operation Write Home (OWH). Hero Arts donates 25% of its sales of this set and two others to OWH, which is really great! I made this card for the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge this week–it is a color challenge to use the colors green and blue on Kraft paper. Thanks for visiting today.

- Stamps – Inkadinkado – “Hibiscus” and Uptown Design Company “Spiral/Leaf Element”
- Tsukineko Goosebumps Shimmer Spray
- Ranger Distress Inks: Peeled Paint, Chipped Sapphire, Broken China and Dusty Concord
- Perfect Pearls Mist – Biscotti
I made 10 of these ATCs to exchange in my Vamp Stamp News book club. We were following the January 2012 issue of the magazine, which covered many topics including Distress Inks and Goosebumps. Spraying the Goosebumps on the paper and then applying the inks over it made both an interesting texture (shiny and bumpy!) and it forms a resist to the water soluble ink.

- Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Lemonade: Lime Cooler” and K&Company “Jubilee Purple Burst”
- Corner punch
- Ranger Distress Stains: Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, and Bundled Sage
- Perfect Pearls Mist – Biscotti
I played with my few colors of Distress Stains and Operation Write Home Stars & Stamp Sketch #108 to make this card. This is one of the wonderful images that Fred B. Mullett creates with Pacific Northwest botanicals. We are trying to concentrate on cards for Mom right now for OWH. Thanks for visiting today!
