Penguins in a Teacup: Missing You

penguin-teacup

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Ship Happens” and Hero Arts “Right at Home”
  • Patterned paper – My Mind’s Eye “Collectible: Memorable ‘Hello’ Cordial Paper” (both sides)
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny
  • Dies – JustRite/Spellbinders “Vintage Labels Three” and Spellbinders “Standard Circle Large”
  • Ribbon

This is my last penguin card for a little while. I used another Cat’s Pajamas stamp and colored the image with Copic markers. I doubled-up the Vintage Labels die cuts for a little change. This is the final penguin card for Operation Penguin at Operation Write Home (OWH). There is a Brigadier General who has a certain fondness for penguins, and he has requested that we send penguin cards for his unit to send home. And many of us are happily fulfilling his request. This week’s Shopping Our Stash Challenge #134 is to make Miss You cards. I pulled this penguin stamp out of my stash unused! I’ve had it for a long time, too! The sentiment is one that I’ve used a number of time for OWH, and I found the patterned paper amid many other sheets of paper! I successfully shopped my stash, down to the little scrap of ribbon! Thanks for visiting today.

Best Fishes – OWH Our Daily Bread Challenge: Stripes

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Best Fishes” and “Smells Like Cake” (for the birthday sentiment)
  • Patterned papers – Scenic Route “Appleton 5th Street” (both sides)
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Fifteen”
  • Embellishments – Stampendous Class A Peel Stickers “Geo Shapes Sparklers-Blue”
  • Punch – Creative Memories corner punch
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

Yes, another penguin card! I have just a few penguin stamps in my collection! I am taking Operation Penguin just a bit further than Sandy probably would like! But who doesn’t like a good penguin in their life? This is another from The Cat’s Pajamas. I colored the stamped image with Copic Markers and layered it up. I wanted to use this striped paper with all of the bright colors to bring out some of the colors in the image. We were challenged to make a card with stripes in the current Our Daily Bread Challenge for January at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Patterned papers – Echo Park “For the Record” 6 X 6″ pad
  • Corner punch – Fiskars 4-1 Embossing Corner Punch – “Spiral”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

Today’s card is a clean and simple one. I used Sketch #238 from Unscripted Sketches. It features a lively group of penguins, courtesy of The Cat’s Pajamas, which I colored with Copics. Many of us are making penguin cards for Operation Write Home for a special card drive for a penguin-loving unit overseas! I’m all over it! Thanks for visiting today.

owh-mwt-stars

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Wish”
  • Patterned paper – Graphic 45 “Totally Wicked”
  • Star Punch – EK Success
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Twenty-Two”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I really like the bunnies featured in some of The Cat’s Pajamas stamps! This set is perfect for this card which I made for the Operation Write Home (OWH) Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown Challenge: Seeing Stars. I colored the image with Copic markers and popped up three punched stars in the lower left corner to balance out the composition. I’m trying to get going on my next box of OWH cards. My goal is to create 26 more cards for OWH before the end of the year! Eeek. So that means 25 after this one! Wish me luck. Thanks for visiting.

OWH Midweek Throwdown: The Nature of Christmas – Polar Bear

owh-mwt-natureofchristmas

  • Stamp – The Cat’s Pajamas “Knut” and “Cool Yule”
  • Patterned paper – My Mind’s Eye “Merry” 6 X 6″ pad
  • Die cuts – Impression Obsession – Snowflakes Die Set; Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Fifteen”
  • Gemstone – Hero Arts “Citron”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I can think of few things better than having animals on one’s Christmas cards. Just my opinion. So this week’s Midweek Throwdown at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps is to create a Christmas card  featuring something from nature. You can see where I immediately jumped. The Cat’s Pajamas always makes outstanding animal stamps–of course, they are often penguins which make them even more outstanding! I colored the image with Copic markers and added some Glossy Accents to the little fishing hole to make it look like water. The snowflake die cut is to convince you that it is cold there! Thanks for checking this out today!

  • Die cut made with Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Lacey Circles”
  • Patterned papers – Crate Paper “DIY Shop”

For this birthday card, I used the Clean and Simple Stamping Sketch #236. I trimmed out the stamped dog and colored the cake with Sakura Gelly Roll pens. A clean and simple card indeed. Thanks for visiting!

Go Forth and Eat Cake

Here is a great rabbit from The Cat’s Pajamas! I colored him with Copic markers and surrounded him with polka dots! I made up the design–didn’t borrow the design from any sketch this time around. I based my color pallet on the colors in the Glitz tape. Thanks for visiting today, and if possible, Go Forth and Eat Cake!

OWH Sketch #141 – Santa!

  • Stamps – from The Cat’s Pajamas “Candyland Christmas” set
  • Die cut – from Spellbinders Poseabilities “Snowflake Wonder”
  • Patterned paper – My Mind’s Eye “Merry” 6 X 6” paper pad
  • Rhinestone – Mark Richards, Inc. – Citron Round 3mm
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny

This is one of my first Christmas cards for Operation Write Home. We need to ship our Christmas cards early in order for our overseas heroes to send cards home for their families. This is a fun one with lots of color and Santa, so I’m hoping it is cheery for both the sender and the recipient! I used the sketch #141 at OWH Stars and Stamps and stamps from The Cats Pajamas. I colored the images with Copic markers. Thanks for stopping by!
