This is my first Operation Write Home (OWH) Easter card. I really like this sketch–nice and simple. The deadline for completing Easter cards for shipment is March 18th, so I need to get busy. I just got my official rubber stamp for OWH (to use to stamp the back of each card). I’m set to go.

I recently purchased CardMaker’s Sketch Book, edited by Tanya Fox, and featuring the designs of Tami Mayberry who launched the Card Positioning Systems blog. I decided that I would work through the book and make each card, one by one! this is one of those card sketches.

Artist Trading Card – Molly

  • Stamp – “Molly” by Magenta
  • Patterned paper – Basic Grey
  • Background – Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint – Shabby Shutters.
  • Leaves – Prima Marketing, Inc. Little brass flower added (origin unknown).

CPS #207 – Imagination

  • Stamps – “Sweet Butterflies” by Hero Arts; “Imagination” by Postmodern Design
  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Blush” collection
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Added ribbon and used a corner rounder as well. Punched out butterflies with 1″ square punch (Paper Shapers-EK Success). Popped-up butterflies with foam squares. Edged elements in Creamy Brown Colorbox Chalk ink.

I used Card Positioning System’s card sketch for this week: #207. This is my interpretation but I’m not overly satisfied, so I may try again. I really like the little triplet of images in the pattern. It is a nice, simple design.
