OWH Sketch #197 – I Heart Raccoon

owh-sketch-197

  • Stamps – Stampendous “Rooco Reach” and Simon Says Stamp “Lots of Hearts”
  • Patterned Papers – Heidi Grace “Sunshowers” 8 X 8″ paper pad
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and American Crafts

I get a kick out of this happy little raccoon. He’s carried a pumpkin before, and now he’s carrying a heart. I used Sketch #197 at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps. I colored the images with Copic markers. Lots of layers and clean lines. Thanks for stopping by today.

OWH Midweek Throwdown – Ro Ro Ro Your Bot

owh-mwt-kids-robots

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Botz Quotz”
  • Patterned papers – Recollections “Rockets ‘n’ Space: Blast Off and Star Map”
  • Bling – Michaels Pearl Stickers
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I like to make robot cards! When I saw the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge this week was cards for kids, that was what I automatically went to for my theme! I accented the card with silver, since the robots were brightly colored. It seemed like they should have something metallic about them!  Thanks for stopping by.

OWH – Googly Eyed Robot

owh-vcmp-googly-robot-1

  • Stamps – Stampendous, “Hot Botz,” “Spot’s Botz,” and Botz Quotz”
  • Embossing folder – Darice “Plaid”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I built the robot and the robot kitty with multiple stamp parts in these clear Stampendous stamp sets. Lot of different options for lots of different looking “botz.” I made a simple background with scraps and my new embossing folder that I got on National Scrapbooking Day for $2.00! What a deal! The best part is the eye detail on the robot: Googly Eyes! Sandy at OWH challenged us to make a card with googly eyes as part of the Virtual Cardmaking Party (VCMP) hosted by OWH this past weekend. To see her card and other googly eyed cards, check out Sandy’s blog. Thanks for visiting today.

OWH Virtual Cardmaking Party – Chevron Challenge

OWH-PresVCMP-#1

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Flower Fields”
  • Die cuts – made with Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Labels One”
  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “PBJ” collection – “Hip Fab” and “Picnic Basket”
  • Bling – Queen and Company “Twinkle Goosebumps”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Embossing powder
  • Ranger Distress Ink markers

I made this card for the OWH Virtual Cardmaking Party that is in progress for the President’s Day weekend. The first challenge over at Scrappin’ Intervention, is the make a card featuring a chevron pattern. I had a number of choices in my stash, but this Basic Grey paper caught my eye. I heat embossed the image with black embossing powder and then used a waterbrush and my Distress markers to color the flowers and leaves. Thanks for visiting today.

Iris Fold Christmas Tree

IrisFoldTree

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Old World Greetings”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny
  • Iridescent paper – Creative International Papers
  • Patterned paper (trunk) – Chatterbox “Fine Engraved Paper in Chocolate”
  • Iris fold pattern – Circle of Crafter’s

I wanted to make an iris folded Christmas card this year. I used a tree pattern published at Circle of Crafters and some iridescent papers in greens and blues. Unfortunately I ran out of time and only got one made! I guess I’ll have to make more now for next Christmas. Thanks for visiting!

Unscripted Sketches #186 – Hearts

Unscripted_186_Hearts

  • Stamps – Stampendous “Scroll Heart” and Hero Arts “Live Life”
  • Paper garland – Flutterbys by American Craft
  • Distress Inks – Ranger
  • Cardstock – BoBunny

This is a really simple take on Sketch #186 at Unscripted Sketches. I’ve been wanting to use this American Crafts heart garland on a card, and this sketch fit the bill. I created a background with Distress Inks in the pinks and browns to match the stamped images. I’m making Valentines and love cards for Operation Write Home now, so the troops overseas have some nice cards to send home. Thanks for visiting!

Fluffles Valentine

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Fluffles Romance”
  • Embossing folder – Sizzix “Bohemian Lace Set”
  • Ribbon – KI Memories “Love Sashes”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I  colored the stamped kitty pair with Copic markers and then cut them out (also known as fussy cutting!) to pop them up against the embossed background. I added a scrap of patterned paper from my stash and a strip of ribbon across to add more hearts. Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps had a tutorial and challenge this week for Fussy Cutting, so I created this card, testing out my cutting skills. ‘Tis the season for creating lots of valentines for the troops to mail home. Thanks for stopping by today.

Stampendous Daffodil

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Botanical Daffodil”
  • Corner punch – EK Success Corner Adourner
  • Patterned cardstock – BoBunny
  • Die cuts – Spellbinders Nestabilities
  • Pens – Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pens
  • Pearls – KaiserCraft
  • Gem – Mrs. Grossman’s “Accents Too!”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This is a wonderful Stampendous stamp made in the style of a botanical illustration. I colored the image with Sakura sparkle gel pens, inked the edges with ColorBox Chalk Ink and accented the card with ribbon. The October challenge at the Stampendous Blog is Fabulous Florals, so I think this fits the bill. I am giving this card to a friend of mine who recently broke her arm and needs a little cheering up. Have a great day today!
