Artist’s Trading Card – Warhol Christmas Tree

NovATC_Warhol_Tree

  • Stamp – Stamper’s Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection “Mini Blueprints” set
  • Ranger Distress Inks – Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, and Mowed Lawn
  • Perfect Pearls Mist – Biscotti
  • Krylon gold pen

I made a set of 10 of these trading cards to exchange with my Craft Stamper group. We meet monthly and exchange ATCs and ideas from things we learn from Craft Stamper magazine. This design was inspired by an Andy Warhol technique featured in the November 2013 issue. I used Ranger Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls mists to create the background. I then stamped the tree in the same color as I applied to the background, and made a metallic gold border around the edge of the cards with a Krylon gold pen. I inked and stamped another tree image in Mowed Lawn green, cut it out and popped it up with dimensional adhesive to give the tree some visual interest. Finally, I added accents on the tree with Sakura Jelly Roll pens. Thanks for visiting today.

Hello, Handsome!

HelloHandsome

  • Stamp – Magenta Cat of the Month “Blondie”
  • Stamp – Hero Arts “Year Round Sentiments” from the Operation Write Home collection
  • Stamps – Emily Hilton “Movember” stamp set from Craft Stamper (created for male cancer awareness)
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This will make a fun Operation Write Home card for someone who has a great sense of humor to send to a kindred spirit! I made this card with inspiration and stamps from the November issue of Craft Stamper magazine (the glasses and moustache). Beware the cat in disguise. Have a great day!

  • Stamp – Hero Arts “You’re Always in my Heart” stamp set
  • Patterned paper – American Crafts Dear Lizzy “Lucky Charm” 6 X 6″ paper pad

I made another Valentine for Operation Write Home today. This one features one of the sentiment stamps made by Hero Arts especially for Operation Write Home! This is for the Our Daily Bread Designs card challenge for November, which is to make Valentines and love cards. Each month this company will pay to ship up to two boxes of cards to the troops overseas, if we make 50 cards for this challenge. It looks like this will be #45, so we’re making good progress! Thanks for visiting today.

owh-sketch-198-HeartHop

  • Stamps – My Favorite Things “Valentine Flopsey”
  • Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye “Happy Day”
  • Cardstock – BoBunny and Bazzill
  • Raffia

Today’s card is a Valentine using OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch #198. I colored the bunny with Copic markers and cut it out, popping it up just a bit so he stands out nicely against the polka dot background. Thanks for stopping by.

OWH Sketch #197 – I Heart Raccoon

owh-sketch-197

  • Stamps – Stampendous “Rooco Reach” and Simon Says Stamp “Lots of Hearts”
  • Patterned Papers – Heidi Grace “Sunshowers” 8 X 8″ paper pad
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and American Crafts

I get a kick out of this happy little raccoon. He’s carried a pumpkin before, and now he’s carrying a heart. I used Sketch #197 at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps. I colored the images with Copic markers. Lots of layers and clean lines. Thanks for stopping by today.

Sent with love – Mojo Monday Sketch #317

mojo-317

  • Stamps – Simon Says Stamp – “Square Sayings”
  • Patterned papers – Simple Stories “Take a Hike”
  • Dies – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Standard Circles Large”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This is a card for Operation Write Home. I used sketch #317 at Mojo Monday for inspiration and used up a few scraps in the process. I need to do a lot more of this to use up all of the odds and ends that I’ve accumulated! Stay tuned. I think there is some major paper piecing in my future. Thanks for the visit today.

Friends are the stars – OWH Midweek Throwdown

owh-mwt-stars

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Wish”
  • Patterned paper – Graphic 45 “Totally Wicked”
  • Star Punch – EK Success
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Twenty-Two”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I really like the bunnies featured in some of The Cat’s Pajamas stamps! This set is perfect for this card which I made for the Operation Write Home (OWH) Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown Challenge: Seeing Stars. I colored the image with Copic markers and popped up three punched stars in the lower left corner to balance out the composition. I’m trying to get going on my next box of OWH cards. My goal is to create 26 more cards for OWH before the end of the year! Eeek. So that means 25 after this one! Wish me luck. Thanks for visiting.

Clean and Simple Sketch #264 – Snowman

owh-sketch196-snowman

  • Stamps – Art Impressions “Snowman” and “WC Blue Bird Left”
  • Patterned papers – Echo Park “Bundle of Joy” 6 X 6″ pad
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Deckled Rectangles Large”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This was the last card I tucked into my Operation Write Home box this morning before shipping it off. Winter cards (not Christmas) are in demand, so I crafted this snowman card. The stamps are from an Art Impressions set, and I colored the images with Copic markers. I used the current sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping: Sketch #264 for design inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Early OWH Merry Christmas Card

OWH-Christmas

  • Stamp – Hero Arts “Merry Christmas Collage”
  • Cardstock – BoBunny Back to Back Dots and Bazzill
  • Crystal Stickers – Mark Richards Inc.
  • Ranger Distress Inks – Pine Needles, Aged Mahogany, Walnut Stain

Another very simple card, showcasing the collage image of this Hero Arts stamp. I used Distress Inks to color it and layered it with contrasting colors. My Christmas deadline for Operation Write Home is this week, so I need to get this in the mail to my shipper! Thank you for the visit!

OWH – Snow Much Fun

owh-mwt-snowmuchfun

  • Stamps – Close To My Heart “Seasons and Nature: Snowflakes”
  • Stencil – Tattered Angels “Winder Crystals” Glimmer Screens Stencils
  • Ranger Distress inks – Mulled Lavendar, Iced Spruce, Seedless Preserves, Weathered Wood
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Sheer ribbon

I had fun making the background for this card with subtle layers of ink. I used the snowflake stencil with Distress inks, applying the ink with a foam applicator and blending. Then I stamped snowflakes and added the ribbon and sentiment to add dimension and pull it all together. I then layered the whole thing on a lavendar card. I created this for the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Snow Much Fun Challenge for the Midweek Throwdown a couple of weeks ago (a little delayed!). Thanks for stopping by.
