Nuts About You – FMS #125

nutsaboutyou

  • Digital image – Doodle Pantry “Nutty for You”
  • Stamps – Stampendous “Tiny Acorns” and Simon Says Stamp “Giving Thanks”
  • Patterned paper – Doodlebug Designs Kraft in Color 6 X 6″ pad
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

It was fun to create this card using Sketch #125 at Freshly Made Sketches. I must admit though, such a simple sketch almost made designing it more difficult! I got to use a squirrel image, which is always a plus! I colored this guy from Doodle Pantry with Copic markers, along with the little acorn stamped images. After fussy cutting them, I popped-up both the squirrel and the acorns with a little bit of dimensional adhesive. It will be a great OWH card for a child. Thanks for visiting today.

Freshly Made Sketches #122 – The bunny theme continues

fms-121-bunny

  • Stamp – Unknown (Someone stamped this for me and I can’t remember the details!)
  • Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye Collectable papers: Unforgettable “You Are” Charm Paper and Remarkable “Beautiful” Grace Paper
  • Border punch – Martha Stewart Embossed Zig Zag Edger
  • Copic markers
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I am in a bunny phase now. I’m making a number of Operation Write Home cards featuring bunnies. Not necessarily Easter cards, because that limits their use to just that holiday. But bunnies are Spring-y and cute and I guess I have a fair number in my stash. Today I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, which is Sketch #122. I unearthed a couple of these bunnies stamped off for me. I don’t know the origin of this stamp, so if anyone can enlighten me, I’d appreciate it. I colored him and his carrot with Copic markers and layered him so he’d stand out. I chose some hexagon patterned paper for a backdrop and will add him to the OWH Midweek Throwdown Hexagon Challenge from last week. Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #118 – Penguin with cupcake for you!

fms-118-penguincupcake

  • Stamps – Inky Antics “Baking Penguins” and Northwoods “Capital For You”
  • Patterned papers – from Echo Park “For the Record 2” 6 X 6” paper pad
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I used Freshly Made Sketches #118 for this card. It is another penguin card for Operation Penguin at Operation Write Home. I have a lot of penguin stamps, as you may have guessed, so I am taking advantage of this event to use some of my penguins for the greater good! I colored this little guy with Copics and fussy cut him and popped him up. Enjoy! And thanks for visiting.

Penguin Birthday – Unscripted Sketches #238

unscripted-238

  • Stamp – The Cat’s Pajamas “Smells Like Cake”
  • Patterned papers – Echo Park “For the Record” 6 X 6″ pad
  • Corner punch – Fiskars 4-1 Embossing Corner Punch – “Spiral”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

Today’s card is a clean and simple one. I used Sketch #238 from Unscripted Sketches. It features a lively group of penguins, courtesy of The Cat’s Pajamas, which I colored with Copics. Many of us are making penguin cards for Operation Write Home for a special card drive for a penguin-loving unit overseas! I’m all over it! Thanks for visiting today.

Hedgehog Love

  • Stamps – from Penny Black “Loads of Love” set and Simon Says Stamp “Tag Sayings”
  • Patterned papers – Echo Park “Yours Truly” and American Crafts “Smitten”
  • Die – Spellbinders/Just Rite “Nested Oval Medallion Labels”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

Here is another late-to-my-blog card–it is already on the way to OWH! And it is another kids’ love card for the OWH Midweek Throwdown from two weeks ago. I really enjoy making kids cards and I know it must be fun for our heroes to send cards home to their kids and young friends and relatives. I colored this hedgehog stamped image with Copic markers and layered it up with some nice contrasting colors. Thanks for stopping by.

OWH Sketch #205 – Hello!

owh-sketch-205

  • Stamps – from Lawn Fawn “Into the Woods” set
  • Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye “Happy Day”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I created this cheery card with Sketch #205 at Operation Write Home (OWH) Stars & Stamps. This would be a nice card for a child to receive from a hero, with the cute animal and bright colors! I still haven’t figured out if this is a raccoon, skunk or maybe a chipmunk! I’m thinking chipmunk! Any help there would be appreciated! Thanks for stopping by today.

Hedgehog with hearts

HedgehogValentine

  • Stamp – Penny Black “Loads of Love”
  • Patterned papers – American Crafts “Hugs & Kisses” and “All My Heart”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Ric Rac

I created this card using the Mojo Monday Sketch #320, even though I didn’t get my card linked up over there quickly enough! It is another Valentine for Operation Write Home with a friendly hedgehog. I colored the hedgehog with Copic markers and tried to bring out a little bit of the blue green in the papers in highlights of his spikes, blending it in with the greys. Then again, it may have just been a bad day at the hedgehog salon. May yours be better! Thanks for visiting.

OWH Sketch #197 – I Heart Raccoon

owh-sketch-197

  • Stamps – Stampendous “Rooco Reach” and Simon Says Stamp “Lots of Hearts”
  • Patterned Papers – Heidi Grace “Sunshowers” 8 X 8″ paper pad
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and American Crafts

I get a kick out of this happy little raccoon. He’s carried a pumpkin before, and now he’s carrying a heart. I used Sketch #197 at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps. I colored the images with Copic markers. Lots of layers and clean lines. Thanks for stopping by today.

Friends are the stars – OWH Midweek Throwdown

owh-mwt-stars

  • Stamps – The Cat’s Pajamas “Wish”
  • Patterned paper – Graphic 45 “Totally Wicked”
  • Star Punch – EK Success
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Twenty-Two”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I really like the bunnies featured in some of The Cat’s Pajamas stamps! This set is perfect for this card which I made for the Operation Write Home (OWH) Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown Challenge: Seeing Stars. I colored the image with Copic markers and popped up three punched stars in the lower left corner to balance out the composition. I’m trying to get going on my next box of OWH cards. My goal is to create 26 more cards for OWH before the end of the year! Eeek. So that means 25 after this one! Wish me luck. Thanks for visiting.

Clean and Simple Sketch #264 – Snowman

owh-sketch196-snowman

  • Stamps – Art Impressions “Snowman” and “WC Blue Bird Left”
  • Patterned papers – Echo Park “Bundle of Joy” 6 X 6″ pad
  • Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Deckled Rectangles Large”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This was the last card I tucked into my Operation Write Home box this morning before shipping it off. Winter cards (not Christmas) are in demand, so I crafted this snowman card. The stamps are from an Art Impressions set, and I colored the images with Copic markers. I used the current sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping: Sketch #264 for design inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.
