I used a watercolor technique for this floral card, applying Ranger Distress stains and inks direct to rubber on two different stamps, then spraying them with Perfect Pearls Mist before stamping them. I like the way the inks blend, but don’t mix or produce muddy colors. And the mist gives the image a very subtle sparkle that binds to the ink (so it doesn’t rub off).
The sketch is the current FTL 180 at Clean & Simple Stamping. It works perfectly for the featured flowers, which are perfect for another OWH Mother’s Day card! Hurray! We are currently trying to make lots of Mother’s Day cards for the troops to send home to their moms, and that is our goal for this week’s Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown. I made this card using Sketch #110 at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps. I’ve had the penguin stamp for quite some time, being a penguin afficionado and all! This was a fun sketch to feature the stamped image; I added a little color with gel pens. Thanks for visiting today!

I used CPS Sketch #254 to make this card, which is for a friend and co-worker whose birthday falls on Leap Day. He was born in 1956, and is celebrating his 14th birthday this year! I made this card for the OWH Sketch Challenge #107. It is a very basic sketch that you can do a lot with. I played with Ranger Distreess Inks again on this card, applying the ink to the edges of all the paper with a lot of shading on the butterfly image. Thank you for stopping by.

This was a fun card to make for me. It really shows off the “Oceania” paper by Graphic45 and also takes advantage of the border printed on the paper. It also provided me an opportunity to use my new Hero Arts set that was made just for Operation Write Home (OWH). Hero Arts donates 25% of its sales of this set and two others to OWH, which is really great! I made this card for the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge this week–it is a color challenge to use the colors green and blue on Kraft paper. Thanks for visiting today.
