For the 365 Cards Color Combo Challenge for Day 184, we were to use these colors:
I chose images from some fun American Crafts “campy” papers I’ve had for a while. The colors fit perfectly and it will make a fun card for a kid in my Operation Write Home box. I trimmed out the animals and popped them up with little fanfare. They seem to speak for themselves! Enjoy your day!

This challenge was all about something I had to have! It was at 365 Cards for Day 181: Gotta Have it this week. When I read the challenge the first time, I immediately thought of cardmaking supplies! Every couple of month the local stamping store has an open house where the owner features new products and fun items. I often have those “gotta have it” moments then–and I do seem to have a thing for squirrels! I figure there are worse vices, right? Anyway, when I saw the stamp with these squirrels from Memory Box, I said “I’ve got to have it!” The stamp has each squirrel on different sides of the wood mount, so you can choose to use one or both, in any configuration. Flexibility in squirrel stamping–always important! I colored them with Copic markers and layered them with some favorite papers, adding some faux stitching dots around the image. Simple and fun. This stamp set couldn’t have been more perfect for my needs this week. I just happened to spot it on the Cat’s Pajamas’ site last week and quickly ordered it, knowing that I planned to make cards to present to Trenton’s magic mentors at their magic show tonight. Not a lot of time, but I got the set very quickly (Thank you!) and went about making four of these cards for the mentors. I was inspired by the current Clean & Simple sketch #167 for the card design. I colored and cut out the bunny image and popped it up, along with the sentiment banner, for some dimension. It was fun to layer this card with the different patterns and textures. We’re back from camping so I can post some of the cards that I made this past week. No Internet connection (or electricity!) there! I think I managed to keep most of the dust off of the cards and the squirrels were fairly scarce, so I don’t think there are an abundance of wildlife prints!
This card was inspired by Sketch #233 at Card Positioning Systems (CPS).

We are gathering our Fall and Winter holiday cards for Operation Write Home now. The troops need a lot of holiday cards, so we are challenged to make them now for the shippers. So we begin with the OWH Christmas in July challenge to get us going. I chose this is a fun stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas to get me going, since it not only has this dog, but it has a cat and a few PENGUINS, too! I colored the image with Copics and finished off the edging around the green paper with opaque white pen “stitching.” Thanks for visiting and Happy Howlidays!
