I made this page following a class with Dina Wakley, who is such an inspiration! Layers were made with acrylic paints, Pan Pastels, ink and Gesso. It fits the February challenge at Mixed Media Mojo, where the challenge is to use the theme: Red and a twist: Wings.
I made ten Artist’s Trading Cards (ATCs) that were similar to this to trade with my fellow Craft Stamper club members this week. We take a look at Craft Stamper magazine and create ATCs that are inspired by something we see in the magazine. This project was inspired by the January issue’s “Soul Stamping” article. I layered gesso, tissue paper, stamped images in ink, and acrylic paint. Lots of layers put together to make these ATCs. Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve been working in my art journals lately, so I want to get back into a few cards again. I used the suggested color palette in the Paper Players Color Challenge #231 for this card. I used several patterned papers from the same Pebbles collection since they were the right colors and coordinated so well. I liked stamping the patterned heart onto the patterned paper heart for this one. The patterned papers really took the lead on this one. It was a fun card to make. Thanks for visiting!
I am in the midst of the Online Card Classes Clean & Simple 4 class. During the lessons on Day 4, I was inspired by Yana Smakula and her Faux Embossing technique. I used a number of different heart dies I have in my stash to create a fun, white-on-white background. I then attached the Love die cut on a small piece of vellum cut with the stitched rectangle die. You can still see the texture of the heart background through the vellum. I added some pearly and shiny white sequins to the background to accent the bling seen in the sentiment for a subtile and classy look. Thanks for visiting.
