- Stamps:
- Balloon and double clouds – Verve Stamps “Up Up & Away”
- Banner – Penny Black “Sweet Wishes”
- Single cloud, hearts and sentiment – Hero Arts “Right at Home”
- Patterned papers – BoBunny Back to Backs (powder blue) and DCWV “Nana’s Nursery: Baby Boy” collection (yellow)
- Baker’s twine – Doodlebug Design, Inc.
This was a fun card to make, sort of like putting a puzzle together. I used the Case Study Challenge #96 card for inspiration and went from there, using a hot air balloon instead of an airplane. I used three different stamp sets from three different companies, popped some of the elements up and kept some flat to the card just to help portray the “flight” involved here! And the saying is perfect for an Operation Write Home card (since it is from one of Hero Arts’ OWH sets), so it will definitely go in my box to the troops. I also continued on with the OWH midweek throwdown challenge colors of yellow and blue, since it fit the design so perfectly! Have a pleasant day!

- Stamp – Stampington & Co. “Scripted Butterfly” and Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
- Patterned paper – Teresa Collins “Everyday Moments: Blue Scroll”
- Border Punch – Martha Stewart “Woodland Branch”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
This is one of my favorite stamps–and I’ve had it for years! This is the first time I have colored it with Copic markers and I liked the way they allow me to add some subtile shading in the broad areas of color in the background. I do like the yellow and blue combination and using them was the Midweek Throwdown Challenge at OWH Stars and Stamps this week. Thanks for checking-in today and I’ll see you again, most likely with more butterflies!

- Stamps – Crafty Individuals (floral) and Hero Arts “Manuscript Background”
- Patterned paper – Basic Grey “Periphery Collection: Cork”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I made this card using the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog, which is Sketch #126. The stamped foreground image is actually just one half of the actual image. I cut it in half to fit the card better! The background of the dark brown floral image includes a script, but I also stamped the Hero Arts manuscript background stamp in a lighter brown ink for some added interest. Thanks for visiting here today.

- Stamp – Stampington & Company “Printed Butterfly”
- Patterned papers – Heidi Grace Designs Only Time collection: “Mini Floral” and “London Eye”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Fiber – Creative Impressions “Summer Textures”
I took the latest sketch challenge at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps to make this card: Sketch Challenge #124. I’ve had the patterned paper collection for some time, so it was nice to use a couple of the patterns for this. Thanks for stopping by today.

- Stamp – Impression Obsession “Rhododendron” cling stamp (G12008)
- Paper – SEI “White Elegance: Diamond” (chalk inks applied)
- Clearsnap Colorbox Chalk Inks (Orchid Pastel and Rouge)
- Ribbon – from stash
- Cardstock – WorldWin Colormates
- Stickers – EK Success Sticko “Pink Diamonds”
For this birthday card, I used the current sketch over at Card Patterns: Sketch 168 for this card (flipped on its side) AND I got to use my new rhododendron cling stamp from Impression Obsession. I colored the image with Copic markers and layered it with some dark green to bring out the greens of the leaves for contrast. The SEI patterned paper is white on white paper–the pattern is printed with a kind of “pearl” ink. So when I applied Colorbox Chalk inks to it, the “pearly” part acted as a resist and the uncoated portion picked up the ink color. So you can make the paper any color you want! Thanks for stopping by.

- Stamp – Stampin’ Up “Elegant Thank You”
- Patterned papers – BoBunny “Enchanted”
- Die cuts made with Spellbineders Nestabilities “Fleur de Lis Rctangles”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
I used the OWH bonus sketch that was presented along with Sketch #123 this week. Lots of flourishes here, with the papers, die cuts and stamp! As it turned out, it was perfect for the OWH Midweek Throwdown challenge for thank you cards. The troops always request lots of thank you cards to send home, so this challenge will hopefully inspire folks to make a good amount to ship out. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there. This is just a fun, simple card using a bonus sketch that came along with OWH Sketch #123 this week. Thanks for visiting. I’m hoping to get more Operation Write Home cards done this week!

- Stamp – Inkdadinkado “The Aviary Assortment”
- Edger punch – EK Success “Dotted Scallop”
- Embossing folder – Cuttlebug “Victoria”
- Die cuts made from Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Fifteen”
- Cardstock – Bazzill and WorldWin
I made this background by following a tutorial at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps: Scrappy Backgrounds Tutorial. It is a good way to use up scraps of cardstock since it is made up of thin strips of paper. The texture added by running it through an embossing folder makes it a really rich background. This is my first one, so hopefully my next one will be a little more polished, but it was fun and a different kind of background for me. Special thanks to Cara who put the tutorial together! Thanks for visiting today.

It is time for another chance to make a card in the OWH Be A Rebel – Virtual Cardmaking Party!
This challenge is to make a card using Bright Colors!
We’re having fun making cards on National Scrapbook weekend! How rebellious of us! This is your chance to be challenged to make nine different cards (or more!) by visiting the honorary OWH Rebels. For links to all of the challenges, click the banner above.

- Patterned papers – BoBunny “Sun Kissed Stripe” and “Sun Kissed Party”
- Stamp – Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
- Cardstock – Bazzill
- Border punch – EK Success “Double Embossed Dotted Lace Edger Punch”
This is a pretty simple card where I let the patterned paper do the talking! This is fun BoBunny paper that has lots of different images featured in small squares. I just cut some of them out and layered them with bright colors over black cardstock. Then I popped up the sentiment for a little dimension.
And for another…

- Stamps – Hero Arts “Year Round Sentiments”
- Cardstock – Bazzill Basics “Pink Glazed Dots” and WorldWin “Caribbean Colors: Kiwi”
- Ribbon – Maya Road Journey Ribbon “Cool Ribbon Belts Collection”
- Border Punch – Fiskars “Upper Crest”
This is another card featuring bright colors. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #239 for this one–or at least my interpretation. All of the paper pieces are edged in blue ColorBox Chalk Ink and the stars are colored with Copic markers. Thanks for stopping in and enjoy the Party!
I’d love to see your cards featuring bright colors! Please link your card below!
