Flourish Pansies

  • Stamps – Flourishes “Calendar Set 1”
  • Border punch – EK Success “Dotted Scallop”
  • Die cuts made from Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Seventeen”
  • Ribbon – Creative Expressions
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils

This is just a simple floral card. I colored the stamped image with Copic markers and then went back in with Prismacolors to add some additional shading and highlights. Then I just layered it up and that was about it! Thanks for the visit!

OWH – Midweek Throwdown – Crocus Anniversary Card

  • Stamps – Flourishes “Calendar Set 1” and sentiment from Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
  • Die cuts made from Nestabilities “Classic Ovals” and “Lacey Ovals”
  • Patterned Cardstock – BoBunny
  • Solid cardstock – Bazzill

I used a lovely crocus stamp from Flourishes for this card. I colored the image with Copic markers first, and then added colored pencil for highlights and additional shading. I layered the die cut ovals for an elegant look. This week’s Midweek Throwdown Challenge at OWH was to make an anniversary card, so this technique worked well for such a card. Thanks for visiting.

Stampendous Daffodil

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Botanical Daffodil”
  • Corner punch – EK Success Corner Adourner
  • Patterned cardstock – BoBunny
  • Die cuts – Spellbinders Nestabilities
  • Pens – Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pens
  • Pearls – KaiserCraft
  • Gem – Mrs. Grossman’s “Accents Too!”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This is a wonderful Stampendous stamp made in the style of a botanical illustration. I colored the image with Sakura sparkle gel pens, inked the edges with ColorBox Chalk Ink and accented the card with ribbon. The October challenge at the Stampendous Blog is Fabulous Florals, so I think this fits the bill. I am giving this card to a friend of mine who recently broke her arm and needs a little cheering up. Have a great day today!

Accordion Fold Tulip Card

  • Stamp – from  Penny Black “Delicate Florals” set and Judikins “Calligraphic Flourish”
  • Die cut – made from Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Four”
  • Rhinestones – Me & My Big Ideas
  • Patterned cardstock – Bo Bunny “Passion Fruit Flourish”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I like fancy fold cards, but seldom take the time to make them. I had made a card like this and held onto it as a “template” so I could remember how to do it again! So I’m not sure if this particular accordion fold has a special name, but I call this an offset accordion fold! There is really nothing fancy about the process, but having an unusual fold does make the card seem kind of fancy. I stamped the Judikins flourishes all over the flourish cardstock to tie in some of the orange from the floral image. I colored the Penny Black tulip with Copic markers and used the larges die in my set for the image, so I had to trim the orange cardstock around it to give it a little frame and a little more weight both visually and to stand up to the folds. This is a birthday card for one of my stamping buddies. Thank you for stopping by today!

Mojo Monday Sketch #256 – Iris

  • Stamps – JustRite “Botanical Medallions & Banners”
  • Die cut – made with JustRite (Spellbinders) “Nested Oval Medallion Labels”
  • Patterned paper – SEI “Silver Valley” – 6 X 6″ pad
  • Embossing folder – Sizzix “Damask and Regal Flourishes” Texture Fades
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and WorldWin
  • Pearls made with Viva Decor Pearl Pen – Silver Chrome

This card features stamped images from JustRite and the nifty dies that match the stamps (or vice versa!). I stamped both the irises and the frame with this set. I colored the irises with Copic markers, popped them up with dimensional adhesive, and accented the frame with pearls made with my handy dandy silver pearl pen. Pearl pens are my favorite supply right now!  The sketch is this week’s from Mojo Monday Sketch #256. The card base is metallic silver from Bazzill, which sets off the silver in the patterned paper and the pearls. Thanks for visiting.

365 Cards – Day 180 – Stand-out Stripes

  • Die Cuts – Made with Memory Box “Cherry Blossom” die set and Just Rite Custom Dies (Spellbinders) “Nested Oval Medallion Labels”
  • Embossing folder – Stampin’ Up “Textured Impressions Stripes”
  • Border Punch – Stampin’ Up Scallop Edge
  • Patterned paper – Echo Park Paper “Dots & Stripes” 6 X 6″ pad
  • Ribbon – May Arts
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This card features stripes on both the paper and the embossing folder. The Day 180 challenge at 365 Cards is to create a card with stripes. The color combination is not one that I would have normally chosen, but it is bright, cheery, and what I had in my on-the-road stash. I used some new dies for this card. The Memory Box floral set has the flower and two centers to build flowers in a variety of colors. The label die is also new to me and I look forward to using a Just Rite stamp set that fits in this die set as well. Too much fun! I’m trying to make quite a few general cards for OWH, so they can be used for any occasion, so this will be handy for that. Thanks for visiting today.

CPS Sketch #280 – Dreamy Floral

  • Stamp – Penny Black “Dreamy”
  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Out of Print” collection (6 X 6″ pad)
  • Cardstock – WorldWin
  • Black rickrack
  • Embossing powder – Stampendous “Detail Black”

I made this 6 X 6″ square card using inspiration from CPS Sketch #280. I heat embossed the flower with detail black embossing powder to create a crisp, shiny image. I repeated the black in some of the accent papers to pull the card together. Thanks for stopping by today.

Freshly Made Sketches #49 – Just Because

  • Stamps – Basic Grey “Curio Bitsy ” clear set and Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
  • Punch – EK Success “Flower Power” Paper Shaper punch
  • Pearl Pen – Viva Decor – Black (centers of flowers)
  • Patterned paper – Carta Bella “Beautiful Moments” collection
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I really like square cards, so this sketch caught my eye. It is Freshly Made Sketches #49. I combined stamped images with punched flowers to make the border images. The flower centers are made with black Pearl Pen, which is one of my new obsessions. This will be a perfect OWH card for a Hero who just wants to send a card for no particular reason. Thanks for stopping by!

OWH – Sketch #132 – Watercolor Flower

  • Stamp – Memory Box “Whisper Print Daisy”
  • Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye “29th Street Market Carefree Graceful” collection
  • Watercolor paper
  • Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Markers

I used the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps Sketch #132 for this card. The dimensions worked well for this stamp, which I purchased recently. I love Memory Box stamps and die cuts. They are a Seattle company and I really like supporting companies from the Northwest. Their products are very high quality. So I used Distress Markers to color the stamp and then spritzed it with water for the watercolor effect. I edged all of the cut paper pieces with Color Box Chalk Ink to tie everything together. Thanks for visiting!

Stretch Your Stamps – Day 1: Thinking of You

  • Stamps – Darcie’s “Mini Nautilus Background” and Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
  • Dies – Spellbinders “Donna Salazar Rose Creations”
  • Cardstock – BoBunny, Bazzill and WorldWin
  • Metal stickers – Mark Richards silver nailheads (3mm)

This was a card that I made after the first lessons on Day 1 of Online Classes “Stretch Your Stamps” class. Our first day’s lessons featured background stamps and a variety of things one can do with them. I tried a couple of different ideas, but only managed to finish this card so far. And I pretty much used my background stamp to make the background! I tried double stamping it, but didn’t like the way it turned out with this pattern. I simply inked the edges with ColorBox Chalk ink to add some visual interest. It has been a great class so far! Thanks for visiting.
