OWH – Wonderful Tulips

  • Stamps – Hero Arts “Newspaper Tulips” and Layers of Color Artstamps “Flutterescent” set (Wonderful)
  • Die cut – Spellbinder’s Shapeabilities “Ribbon Banners”
  • Patterned paper – American Crafts “a la Carte: Balsamic”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny “Passion Fruit Flourish”

This is a card I made with a new Hero Arts stamp that I got recently. Our challenge at Stars and Stamps was to make an “any occasion” card with something new. This is a simple card that shows off the image of the stamp. Thanks for the visit!

CDAC Progressive Challenge #9

  • Image – Crafter’s Digital Art Center Challenge #9 – Digistamps 4 Joy
  • Die cuts – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Two”
  • Cardstock – BoBunny and Bazzill
  • Ribbon – Offray “Innercircle Green”
  • Embellishment – K&Company “Glad Tidings Words”

I made this card based on the December Sketch at Cardmaking Friends, using one of the Crafter’s Digital Art Center #9 images. This image is by Digistamps 4 Joy.

OWH Banner Sketch Challenge

  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey, BoBunny
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and BoBunny
  • Stamp – Pink Paislee “Soiree” set
  • Die cut – Spellbinders Shapeabilities “Fancy Tags”
  • Corner punch – Marvy Uchida

So this is a pretty loose interpretation of the current sketch (#101) at Operation Write Home. So I’ll call it a banner card and leave it at that! Cutting out my banner was a great way to use little scraps that I just couldn’t throw out. I had lots of patterns going on in these papers, but they all worked together. The banner and sentiment are popped up for some dimension, and the edges of the light cardstock is edged with chalk ink. Thanks for stopping by.

Get Sentimental – OWH Challenge

  • Stamps – Verve “American Hero” set
  • Die cut – Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Lacey Squares”
  • Patterned paper – American Crafts “Campy Trails: Elk Creek Trail”
  • Ribbon – American Crafts “Lemon”
  • Cardstock – Worldwin and Bazzill

This card sort of fell together. I had all of the pieces and just put them together in sort of a patriotic design. I made this for the current December ODBD Challenge at Operation Write Home. The challenge is to use the sentiment as the main focal point of the card. Since I don’t even include sentiments on the outsides of some of my cards, this WAS a challenge! Thanks for the visit and I’ll see you soon.

OWH – Happy Hour Skip Card CASE

  • Stamps –
  •       Large heart – Inkadinkado
  •       Small heart – My Sentiments Exactly
  •       Sentiment – A Muse Artstamps
  • Die Cuts – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Eyelet Circles” (two sizes) and “Labels Seventeen” for the card base
  • Cardstock – Bazzill Basics and BoBunny Back-to-Back Dots
  • Ranger Distress Ink in Fired Brick for distressing at the edges

I made this card after visiting the Operation Write Home Happy Hour Blog Skip that showcased the Hero Arts newly released stamps. There was lots of inspiration as I hopped through the different blogs. I was particularly intrigued by the shape of card base of the card created by Julie at “Handmade by Julie.” Her card inspired me to make this Valentine to ship off someone overseas so that they can send it home to a loved one. Thanks for stopping by!

Card Positioning Systems Sketch #248

  • Die cuts – Spellbinders Poseabilities “Snowflake Wonder”
  • Patterned papers – BoBunny St. Nick Sugar Plum (green polka dot) and Heidi Grace Shimmer Flocked paper “Jolly & Bright” (words)
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Brads – Recollections Round Brads

This is my interpretation of the current CPS Sketch #248. The snowflake die cuts are both cut and embossed, which provides a nice texture as does the flocked “fuzzy” paper in the background. Thanks for visiting.

OWH Sketch #99

  • Stamps – Stampendous “Eiffel Tower” set
  • Die cut – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Seventeen”
  • Patterned paper – Basic Grey “Picadilly”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Punch – Marvy Uchida postage stamp

I used the current OWH Sketch #99 as my point of departure for this card design. I used three stamps from the Stampendous “Eiffel Tower” clear stamp set, using three different colors of Ranger Distress Ink. I popped up the stamp layers to add a bit of dimension and interest. Thanks for stopping by!

Unscripted Sketch #134

  • Patterned papers – My Mind’s Eye “Lime Twist” collection
  • Stamps – Daisy Bucket Designs “Swirl Heart” and Studio G/Hampton Art Series 62
  • Border punch – Fiskars “Threading Water Punch”

I used the latest script at Unscripted Sketches: Sketch #134 to make this card. This will be another Valentine for my Operation Write Home shipment I need to complete soon. Thanks for stopping by!

OWH – Digital Image Challenge

  • Digital image – Just Some Lines
  • Die cuts – Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Labels Seventeen”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill Basics and Bobunny “Wine Dot”

For this digital image challenge at Operation Write Home, I used one of the free images at Crafter’s  Digital Art Center for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #8. I colored the puppy with Copic markers and made it into another love card/Valentine to ship off to the troops in the next group of shipments. Thanks for visiting today!

OWH – Sketch #97

  • Stamp – My Sentiments Exactly “Happy Valentine’s Day”
  • Patterned papers – all from GCD Studios “Rose Colored Glasses” collection
  • Buttons – Doodlebug Design “Red Hearts”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Ric Rac and twine from stash

I was inspired by the current sketch at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps: Sketch Challenge #97 when making this card. I always like paper piecing, so this was a fun pattern to use. I’m putting together valentines to ship off for the troops soon, so this is another for that shipment. Thanks for the visit!
