This was a fun card to make by layering all of the die cuts together to make a snowflake and fastening them with a frosted brad. The Midweek Throwdown challenge today at Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps is Love and Hugs cards for our heroes. Then, over at 365 Cards, Day 278’s challenge is to create with Polka Dots. So I’ve done a combined effort with this simple card. I used the image from one sheet of KaiserCraft paper and die cut the polka dots from another sheet from the same collection. I popped up the image and accented the corners with hearts and pearls. That’s it! Didn’t use a single ink pad on this one! Have a great day and thanks for visiting.

I colored this cute little Christmas mouse with Copic markers and popped him up for a little dimension. I used bright green for accents, including edging the card and sentiment with green ink. This is a really simple take on Sketch #186 at Unscripted Sketches. I’ve been wanting to use this American Crafts heart garland on a card, and this sketch fit the bill. I created a background with Distress Inks in the pinks and browns to match the stamped images. I used iridescent papers to create this iris fold card–It is very sparkly! I used the sketch over at Unscripted Sketches #185 for inspiration. The piggyback challenge for this sketch is to use dry embossing–and I chose embossed paper (Bazzill dots) for a nice texture. I colored the stamped kitty pair with Copic markers and then cut them out (also known as fussy cutting!) to pop them up against the embossed background. I added a scrap of patterned paper from my stash and a strip of ribbon across to add more hearts. Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps had a tutorial and challenge this week for Fussy Cutting, so I created this card, testing out my cutting skills. ‘Tis the season for creating lots of valentines for the troops to mail home.
