Card Positioning Systems – Sketch #242

  • Patterned paper – Best Creations “Travel Forever” (both sides)
  • Butterfly – K & Company – Brenda Walton “Flora and Fauna Butterfly” adhesive chipboard
  • Stamp – Inkadinkado “Happy Birthday”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and Bazill Bling
  • Round paperclip – brass

I used the CPS Sketch #242 to create this birthday card. The 2-sided paper from Best Creations, Inc., worked out well for this and the side with the blue background has glitter imbedded in it. I kept this simple, since the paper design kept the eye going! Thanks for visiting!

Butterfly Collage

  • Stamp – Crafty Individuals “Butterflies Collage Quad”
  • Die cut – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Lacy Squares”
  • Jewels – Hero Arts Hero Hues
  • Ribbon – May Arts
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Embossed paper – source unknown

I clear embossed the butterfly image and then applied different colors of ColorBox Chalk inks direct to paper and blended. This card is a sympathy card for a friend whose sister just passed away.

  • Stamp – My Sentiments Exactly “Happy Valentine’s Day”
  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Green at Heart: Pea,” Memory Box “Sweetheart” collection

I used the latest sketch at Operation Write Home (OWH) to create this card: Sketch #93. It is the first Valentine for my next box to send to OWH. This is a great design for using up scraps of different papers! Thanks for stopping by.

Crafter’s Digital Art Center Progressive Challenge #5

  • Digital image – Digis by Phooka
  • Patterned paper – Three Bugs in a Rug “Deck the Halls: Best Time of the Year”
  • Patterned cardstock – BoBunny “Clover Dot”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This image is part of the Crafter’s Digital Art Center’s Progressive Challenge #5. The image was created at Digis by Phooka and colored with Copic Markers. I was inspired by Card Positioning Systems Sketch #241 for the layout of this card. Thanks for visiting today.

Operation Write Home – Polka Dots

  • Stamps – Basic Grey “Cakes” clear set and Inkadinkado “Happy Birthday”
  • Papers – BoBunny “Bashful Dot” and Jenni Bowlen “Vanilla Creme Large Dot Coredinations Embossed Cardstock”
  • Ribbon – American Crafts
  • Die cuts – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Nine”

This week’s challenge at Operation Write Home is Polka Dots. I have lots of polka dots in my stash: tons of papers, ribbon, round punches, border punches with dots… So I had no problem coming up with something! The cardstock has a lighter colored core, so when you sand it with a sanding block, a lighter color shows through. I stipple brushed ink on the edges of everything as well, so everything is nice and distressed! Thanks for checking-in.

OWH Folded Christmas Tree

  • Patterned  and solid papers – Making Memories “Noel” collection
  • Chipboard sentiment – Making Memories Jigsaw Shapes “Holiday” collection
  • Card Base – Making Memories “Noel”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Star brad – Creative Impressions, Inc.
  • Corner Punch – Marvy Uchida

This is a really neat folding technique that I learned on Operation Write Home Stars & Stripes. Jan Hunnicut, of “She’s Gone Digital,” offered a tutorial showing how to fold this tree. Trenton, who is a master at Origami, also advised me on the folding! I seem to be folding-impaired to some degree! Anyway, I really like the tree and hope you do, too! Thanks for stopping by.

Fluffles Christmas

  • Stamp – Stampendous “Fluffles and Baubles”
  • Die cut – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Twenty Two”
  • Patterned paper – 3Bugs in a Rug “Best Time of the Year” from the Deck the Halls collection.
  • Cardstock – BoBunny “Clover Dot”
  • Rhinestones – KaiserCraft

This was another card I wanted to finish to send off to Operation Write Home for the Christmas deadline coming up. I stamped Fluffles and colored it with Copic markers. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Ink – Tsukineko Kaleidacolor “Creole Spice” Rainbow pad
  • Patterned paper – Little Yellow Bicycle “Purple Pansy”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I made this card using the sketch at Clean & Simple #162. I stamped the sillhouette image with clear embossing powder and then brayered the rainbow ink over it. I popped up the image for a little dimension. Thanks for visiting.
