This is another card for the OWH Virtual Cardmaking Party. I made this for the Sand & Sea VCMP Challenge #6. For this challenge we are to use blues and tan. I used some embossing powder for the heat-embossed sentiment that has sort of a sandy quality as well. Thanks for stopping by.

I made this card for the OWH Virtual Carmaking Party going on right now. This is OWH VCMP Challenge #9: Cut It Out, which means we choose die cuts and punches to use in our card designs. I created this card for the Virtual Cardmaking party that is going on over at OWH Stars and Stamps. This one is for the VCMP Challenge #1: Hot Tropics, for which we are to make a card using tropical colors. I kind of kept the whole theme tropical for this one. We landlubbers are in the midst of a virtual cardmaking party (VCMP) while some of the other OWHers are on a cardmaking cruise. This challenge is one of the first of many: OWH VCMP Challenge #2: Nautical Masculine Card Challenge. I’ve had this stamp set for a while and hadn’t had an opportunity to use it! Welcome to the last stop on today’s OWH Blog Skip! I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the clean and simple techniques we learned from the Online Card Classes “Clean and Simple” class. What a great class! I created this card in a techniques lesson about Watercolor Blocking. This technique works very well with Distress Inks and water or Perfect Pearls Mists. I first heat embossed the stamped images in Detail White and then watercolor blocked over with the Distress Inks on water-saturated ink blending foam pads. I must say that I’m really excited because I just received my first “thank you” email from an Air Force Major in Afghanastan–just as I was posting this! I’m so thrilled to have received a personal note. It makes what we do mean even more!
I made this card as a sample card for the February 1st Midweek Throwdown at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps. I love the Memory Box dies that have come on the market in recent times; these have such intricate detail! The diecuts are really the centerpiece and I popped-up the sentiment and added some faux stitching around the edges to finish it off. Thanks for visiting and be sure to participate in the challenge.
