Clean and Simple Sketch #184

  • Patterned paper – Basic Grey “Out of Print: publication”
  • Border punch – EK Success Edger Punch “Morocco Lace”
  • Stamp – Hero Arts “Flourish Birthday”
  • Chipboard adhesive butterfly – K & Company “Flora & Fauna Butterfly”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This is a wonderful sketch over at Clean & Simple Stamping right now: Clean and Simple Sketch #184. The overlapping of border punched strips is very effective and can make really amazing designs. Now that I tried this punch I want to try some others! Depending on the punch it can be nice with patterned papers, too, but there was too much detail in my chosen punch to make that work well in this case. Thanks for stopping by today.

Clean & Simple – Sketch 143

  • Stamp – from Darcie’s “Here Comes the Sun” cling stamp set
  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Lime Rickey” 6 X 6 paper pad
  • Die cuts – made from Spellbinders “Butterflies,” “Lacey Circles” and “Standard Circles Large”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

I made this card with the current Clean and Simple Sketch #183 in response to the Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home. This week’s challenge was to use a green and yellow color palette. I really like this sketch and the pieces just fell together for me from my stash! Plus I was able to use one of the stamps from the new Darcie’s set I just got, which I think will be cheery for more Operation Write Home cards to come. Thanks for visiting today.

CPS Sketch #156 – Butterflies

  • Stamps – Layers of Color “Flutterescent”
  • Patterned papers – Basic Grey “Little Black Dress: Modern Vogue and Elegant”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Die cut – Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “Standard Circles Large”
  • ColorBox Chalk Inks (around edge of stamped image)
  • Gems – Mark Richards Crystal Stickers
  • Corner punch – Fiskars

This is a very simple card that features such pretty stamps and paper that I wanted them to steal the show! The sketch at Card Positioning System (#256) is perfect. The little rhinestones add just a little sparkle to liven things up! Thanks for the visit.

OWH Sketch Challenge #107

  • Stamp – Stampington & Company “Ledger Butterfly”
  • Patterned paper – Basic Grey “Hello Luscious” 6 X 6″ Paper Pad
  • Embossing Folder – Cuttlebug “Seeing Spots”
  • Cardstock – WorldWin
  • Inks – Ranger Distress Inks
  • Baker’s Twine

I made this card for the OWH Sketch Challenge #107. It is a very basic sketch that you can do a lot with. I played with Ranger Distreess Inks again on this card, applying the ink to the edges of all the paper with a lot of shading on the butterfly image. Thank you for stopping by.

Clean & Simple Class – Day 3 – Die Cuts

  • Die cuts – made from Memory Box “Vivienne Butterfly”
  • Stamp – Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill

This is a very simple card. I layered two butterflies cut from the same cardstock as the base card and glued them together. I also did the same with a strip of cardstock that ran vertically along the right-hand side. Then I heat embossed the sentiment at the bottom. These lacey die cuts make the effect of the monocromatic card work really well. Thanks for visiting today.

Clean & Simple Class – Day 9

  • Stamp – Layers of Color “Flutterescent” clear set; Sentiment – Penny Black “Flourish Birthday”
  • Card buttons – Hero Arts “Flowers”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Colored Pencils – Prismacolor

I made this card based on our latest lesson at the online Clean & Simple Class. I stamped the image in white ink (Popcorn Colorbox Chalk Ink) and then colored it with Prismacolors. Thanks for visiting today.
