CPS Sketch #219 – Cyclamen

  • Stamp – Flourishes, Inc. “A Year in Flowers 3: Cyclamen,” image colored with Copic markers
  • Patterend papers – My Mind’s Eye “Tres Jolie” Collection
  • Die cut – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Twenty”
  • Felt trim – Queen and Company – Self Adhesive Felt Fusion Border – “Classic Scroll”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Edges inked with Colorbox Chalk Inks

This card is based on the newest sketch at Card Positioning Systems (CPS) – Sketch #219. I popped the image (both die cuts) up with double-sided tape for some dimension and have a variety of textures with the felt trim and the Bazzill Bling cardstock. Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Fun – OWH Challenge

  • Image – Sticker King – Victorian Cat Collection
  • Patterned paper – sei “Claire: Delightful”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Brads – American Crafts
  • Die cut – Spellbinders Nestabilities “Labels Seventeen”

I made this card for the Operation Write Home Summer Fun Challenge. Two cats jumping rope in summer attire seemed pretty much the epitome of Summer fun! Since I just shipped off some cards to OWH this week, this will be the start of my next shipment.

Clean and Simple #140

  • Stamp – Hero Arts “A very special birthday”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill and Worldwin
  • Butterfly – K&Company Brenda Walton Adhesive Chipboard
  • Border punch – EK Success Open Scallop Edger

This card is made using the sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping – #140.

OWH – Things with wings

  • Stamp – Printworks “Wonderful”
  • Die cut – Nestabilities “Butterflies”
  • Patterned paper – Three Bugs in a Rug “Springtime”
  • Embossing folder – Cuttlebug
  • Cardstock – Bazzill Bling
  • Ribbon – Offray

I embossed the butterfly die-cut and stippled chalk ink onto it using the die as a stencil to add some color to the butterfly. Kind of a lot of colors going on it, but I guess that makes it cheery.

This card is for Operation Write Home and was made as part of the “Things with wings” challenge. I think about half of the cards I make have butterflies! One remarkable thing that has occurred this week is that the Operation Write Home organization has now officially processed over ONE MILLION cards! This will be one of the second million that they ship out to the troops! Thanks for visiting.

OWH – Origami Necktie Father’s Day Challenge

These cards were made using the Origami necktie tutorial at Operation Write Home Stars & Stripes blog. There is a shortage of Father’s Day cards going over to the troops, so the challenge is to make at least 5 necktie cards and send them off to the shippers. My son, Trenton, is a master at Origami, so he made all of the ties and I made the shirts and put them together! Teamwork! Here is a closer look at a couple of them:

  • Origami paper – Aitoh rice paper
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Brads – star and screw brads by Creative Impressions, Inc., mini-buttons by Making Memories, other brads by American Crafts and Lasting Impressions

Thanks for helping out, Trenton!

Card Patterns Sketch #113

  • Stamp – Hero Arts from the “Antique Engravings” clear set
  • Patterned papers – SEI “Couture” collection: “pique” and “chintz”
  • Cardstock – Bazzill
  • Rhinestone flowers – Kaisercraft
  • Ribbon – May Arts

This card was inspired by Sketch 113 at Card Patterns.

Mojo Monday – Week 188

  • Stamps – Hero Arts Cleardesign “Cupcakes” set (both cupcake and sentiment)
  • Patterned cardstock – ki memories “Flourish” collection
  • Solid cardstock – Bazzill
  • Die cut – Spellbinder’s Nestabilities “standard circles large”
  • Border punch – EK Success “Swiss Cheese”
  • Colored pearls – Kaisercraft
  • Ribbon – May Arts
  • The cupcake image is colored with Sakura Gelly Roll pens with some the flower accented with a Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze pen.

This was a new challenge for me: Mojo Monday. This particular sketch is Mojo Monday Week 188. I chose to do a square card as opposed to a round card. I didn’t have the energy to try to cut a circle large enough for the card with my circle cutter! Thanks for visiting.
