Iris Fold Umbrella Card

During the spring months this year, my son played tennis on his high school team. This was his final year and he was fortunate to play varsity all four years. But unlike any other year, rainy weather interfered with nearly every scheduled match! Tennis isn’t like soccer–when it rains you have to stop playing because the courts get very slick and could cause injuries. Matches were constantly rescheduled to the next dry day and you never really knew when that would be! So at the end of the season when I was trying to determine a card design to use for the coaches’ cards, I decided on an umbrella theme. I hadn’t done iris folding in a long time, so I looked for a desirable pattern and ended up making my own. I used the school colors (blue and red) with a touch of silver. I added the school logotype “S” (for South Salem Saxons) as an accent. I made two of these for the team to sign to show appreciation to their coaches.

I will submit this for the Li’l Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge #59:”Anything Goes” and the Pile it On Challenge #131: “Fancy Folds.” Thanks for visiting.
